Bhutan, publicly known as the Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked country located in South Asia between China and India. The nation is bordered by China’s Tibet Autonomous Region to the north, India to the south, the Indian state of Sikkim and the Chumbi Valley of Tibet to the west, and the Indian state of Arunachal to the east.

Bhutan ranks first in per capita income in South Asia and has the least corruption. The government here is a parliamentary democracy. The head of state is the king (the current king is Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck since 2006). Bhutan has diplomatic relations with 52 countries and the European Union, but no formal relations with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Nowadays, Bhutan is also famous in the world for its concept of Gross National Happiness.
