The gear listed below is recommended for hiking. We encourage you to get all the equipment listed below for the trip and please make sure you check out and try each equipment. You can also buy or rent in Kathmandu.

Clothing and Footwear:

  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Trekking shirts
  • Trekking trousers
  • Warm jacket/sweater/pullover
  • Down jacket
  • Sleeping bag with liner
  • Duffel / kit bag
  • Waterproof jacket and trousers
  • Thermal
  • Undergarments
  • Undergarment
  • Warm socks
  • A cap/hat to protect from the sun during the trek
  • Woolen hat, warm gloves, balaclava sand bandana/scarf
  • Extra clothes to wear in Kathmandu when returning from trekking.
  • Trekking shoes (preferably Goretex and full to support your feet)
  • Slippers/flip flops for camp
  • Daypack 30-35 liters (your sunblock, water, camera, waterproof jacket and anything else you may need while trekking)

Important Documents:

  • Passport with visa and validity of 6 months after the completion of your trip
  • 4 copies of passport size photograph for permit and visa
  • Travel insurance covers drug withdrawals
  • Flight tickets
  • Credit cards for emergencies
  • Driving ID or any other ID if you lose your passport.
    (Please take photocopies of all documents with you and leave one copy with your relatives)

Others:

  • Headlights with extra batteries
  • Sunglasses with UV protection
  • Camera with charger or extra battery
  • A pair of trekking poles
  • Water bottle (1) liter
  • A laundry bag to hold dirty clothes
  • Large plastic bags to keep clothes dry
  • The lock
  • Binoculars
  • Reading materials, notebooks and pens

Toilets and Hygiene:

  • Quick drying towel
  • Small face towel
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Deodorant, soap and shampoo (small bottle)
  • Face and body moisturisers, sunscreens and lip balms
  • Hand sanitizer/antiseptic wipes
  • Hygiene products
  • Basic first aid kit
