Nepal is a South Asian country. Geographically, the country is located between latitudes 26° and 31° N, and longitudes 80° and 89°E. Likewise, it is politically sandwiched between two giant nations in Asia: China and India. Nepal is roughly trapezoidal in shape. It is 800 kilometers (497 mi) long and 200 kilometers (124 mi) wide, with an area of 147,181 square kilometers (56,827 sq mi). The capital of Nepal is Kathmandu. Those who live in Nepal are called Nepalese.
