Equipment List and Documentation:
We’ve compiled a list of essential equipment, personal medical supplies and symptoms of medical conditions you may encounter while cycling. Also, please understand that the items listed below should be considered an essential summary. We recommend that you become familiar with all of your equipment and have a basic understanding of medical conditions associated with high altitude.
Your documents for visiting Nepal:
Valid passport, 2 additional passport size photographs, airline ticket
Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily available at Kathmandu airport)
Cash dollars to buy Nepali visa at Kathmandu airport
Credit Cards, Bank/ATM/Cash Machine Cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines
Accessories:
– Sleeping bag rated at -10°C
– Headlights with extra bulbs and batteries
– A small pad or combination lock-to-lock trek bag
– Basic First Aid Kit (see Health and Medicine)
– Large plastic bags – to keep things dry inside the trek bag
– Daypack (about 2500 to 3000 cubic inches)
– Water bottles
– Cosmetics
– A small wash towel
– Rain coat
Personal clothing items
head:
– Mountain bike helmet
– Sun hat or scarf
– A light balaclava or warm fleece hat
– Sunglasses with UV protection
Upper Body:
– Mountain bike shorts and t-shirts
– Weight thermal top
– A woolen jacket or pullover
– Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket
hand:
– Lightweight gloves Comfortable gloves
Lower Body:
– Chamois
– knee pads
– Underwear
– Biking shorts
– Light cotton long pants
– Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell pants
leg:
– Comfortable mountain bike shock
– Thick, warm woolen socks to wear in the teahouse or when you’re walking around
– Mountain bike shoes

– Camp shoes (boots and/or slippers)
Personal hygiene:
– personal hygiene supplies;
– Two tubes of lip sun cream, at least 1 large tube of regular sun cream (minimum factor 30), some after-sun lotion in case of sunburn
– A toothpaste/brush set;
– A hand sanitizer gel
– 1 (quick drying) synthetic towel
Medical supplies:
- Individual prescription drugs; Please inform your leader of any medical problems prior to the climb.
- Small personal first aid kit; (Simple and lightweight): First aid tape, plasters (band-aids), alcohol-free wipes for cuts, personal medications, etc. (Leaders will have more comprehensive first aid kits)
- A Leather Skin Repair Kit
- Anti-diarrhea pills (Imodium) (one regular package)
- Headache medicine (aspirin or ibuprofen) (one regular pack)
- A small bottle of cough and/or cold medicine.
- A course of antibiotics for chest infections, available without a doctor’s prescription at local chemist shops or pharmacies.
- A course of antibiotics for stomach infections, available locally at chemist shops or pharmacies without a doctor’s prescription.
- A small bottle of anti-altitude sickness medicine: Diamox (acetylzolamide), available locally, for more information about this medicine, please contact us or your doctor.
- A small bottle of water purification tablets (must contain silver-ion and chlorine) or a water filter or UV sterilizer.
- Earplugs
- Extra prescription glasses/contact lenses. Contact lens wearers, please bring glasses in case of emergency.
