Along with decentralization, a new permit system has been implemented in the Everest region. You no longer need a Trekker’s Information Management System (TIMS) card. This new local entry permit has completely replaced the old trek permit in Khumbu with much controversy and controversy. Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entry Permit

This new permit was implemented on October 1st 2018, replacing the existing TIMS card. The local government of Khumbu directly collects Rs 2,000 per person from each foreigner. Please note that these permits cannot be obtained in Kathmandu. First, if you are flying through Lukla, you can get this Lukla. If you are trekking from Jiri or Phaplu, Salleri, it can be reached at Monzo.

Everest National Park Entry Permit

This is the existing permit system for national park entry. You can get it at the Nepal Tourism Board office in Kathmandu or Monzo at the park entrance. It will cost NPR 3000 per person. The most convenient way is to get it on Monjo. There is an office in Monzo, where they also display various information about the Khumbu region.

Additional permit for Jiri to Everest base camp trek

If you are following the Jiri, Bhandar to Everest base camp trek, you need to obtain an additional permit for the Gaurishankar Conservation Area. This license should be obtained from the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu. It will cost NPR 3000 and $10 USD per person.

Documents required for trekking permit

You will need your passport details for the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality and Everest National Park entry permit. You will need two photographs for the Gaurishankar Conservation Area Project Entry Permit, and you will also need to fill a short form to obtain the permit. All these charges are payable in local currency only.

Note: For organized treks, your agency will get all the permits.
