Safety Measures and Risk Assessment for Nepal Treks and Climbs
Carefully Planned Itinerary Our expert team, with years of experience, meticulously designs our itineraries. We consider factors like altitude, acclimatization, campsite quality, and trail conditions to ensure our clients enjoy a seamless experience from start to finish. Our itineraries include ample acclimatization days to help your body adjust to high altitudes. We also have contingency days for climbing trips and Everest treks to accommodate unforeseen events like flight cancellations or poor weather.
Prepared Participants We provide detailed trip information to help participants choose the right adventure. Our trip dossier includes essential details such as trip overview, grade, fitness level required, equipment checklist, and pre-departure information (visas, flights, arrival instructions). This ensures participants are well-prepared for their journey.
Risk Assessment Before each trekking and climbing season, our experienced team conducts a thorough risk assessment. We evaluate and mitigate potential risks, making necessary adjustments to our trips to ensure safety. This proactive approach helps us manage any challenges that may arise.
Experienced Team Our office staff, guides, and leaders are highly trained professionals with extensive knowledge in their respective fields. All leaders and guides undergo first aid and high-altitude medical training, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle any situation.
Higher Staff Ratio We maintain a high staff-to-client ratio on all trips:
- Trekking Trips: 1 senior leader/guide, 1 assistant guide for every 4 participants, and 1 porter for every 2 participants.
- Climbing Trips: 1 senior climbing leader/guide, 1 climbing Sherpa for every 3 participants, and 1 porter for every 2 participants (excluding porters for climbing gear).
Comprehensive Medical Kit and Supplementary Oxygen System We carry a first aid kit with standard medicines prescribed by doctors on all trips. For high-altitude treks and climbs, we provide a supplementary oxygen system for emergencies, which can be crucial for treating high-altitude sickness. Additionally, we can arrange for a High-Altitude Mountain doctor upon request and at an additional cost.
Satellite Phone for Emergency Purposes All our climbing and remote area trips are equipped with satellite phones for emergencies. This ensures we have a reliable connection to the outside world when needed.
Rescue Arrangements In case of an emergency requiring evacuation, we have the local knowledge and teams to assist. During peak season, our team is available 24/7. Once your insurance company confirms the evacuation, a helicopter will be dispatched to your location for rescue.
