Trekking permits are essential for all-region trekking in Nepal. If you are other than Nepalese nationals and willing to Trek in Nepal Himalaya, you need to obtain Trekking Permits before going for a trek. If you want to trek two areas, you are required to have two permits or have to pay an entry fee twice. Police checkpoints are set up in several entry points, therefore, you are advised not to try to trek without permits. Please, do not take risks, otherwise, you will be punished as per the law by the Government of Nepal. Two passport-sized photographs and a copy of the passport are required along with an application in order to obtain a permit. Trekkers’ Information Management System TIMS

There is another type of permit called trekkers information management system (TIMS) permit. this permit is required to trek all treks of Nepal. This is issued from Nepal Tourism Board with the help of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN). TIMS keep the track record of foreign visitors in Nepal and respond in case of emergencies, such as rescue and natural disaster.

Annapurna Region Trekking Permits & Fees

Annapurna region is the main touristic region of Nepal. Near from Pokhara, there are many trek routes such as Annapurna base camp trek, Annapurna circuit trek and many more.

All tourist should get the entry permit from the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) as well as a TIMS card to trek.

Restricted Areas/Trekking Permits & Fees

Nepal government has announced and implemented to impose the special permit to enter in some specific area of Nepal. Those are also known as a restricted area and highly monitored by the government. Tourist is required to get permits from the immigration office of Nepal with the help of Government resisted trekking agency. You need to submit many application and company should be responsible for you during your trek days in Nepal. Some of this area is quite expensive while others are cheap as well. The most expensive permits are upper mustang and Upper Dolpo.

Manaslu Trekking Permits & Fees

An alternative of Annapurna circuit is Manaslu trek. the least popular but the best trek routes of Nepal.
