Trip Itinerary

This morning, we take our scenic drive to Pokhara by tourist bus. The ride can take around 6 hours if there isn't much traffic on the way, but you don't have to worry about getting bored on the way. As we leave the capital city behind, you will enjoy seeing the rural landscapes of Nepal pass by your window: and the big mountains in all of them. As we arrive at Pokhara, and Pokhara is also the gateway to the Annapurna Base Camp trek, and tomorrow morning our trek will begin in earnest. For tonight, we will stay at the best hotel available and enjoy a hearty meal before checking in.

The first day of our 8-day Annapurna Base Camp trek begins in the picturesque lakeside town of Pokhara. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we will meet our drive a small village called Nayapul. It's all on foot from here, and our hike continues in earnest. As soon as we reach our destination Ghandruk, we also start getting some lovely views of the snow capped mountains.

Ghandruk itself is a sprawling hill village where you will meet many friendly Gurung villagers as we stay at our accommodation. And you'll be rewarded with a home-cooked meal and a warm place to sleep. In which after we check in, you can relax with hot tea in the evening at Annapurna South, Hiuchuli and Machhapuchhre shaped peaks. And in the evening one can visit the Gurung Museum.

After our first breakfast on the mountain, we climbed for about an hour up to Kimrungdanda. On the way, one can enjoy the panoramic view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and Gangapurna. From the top of this Kimrungdanda, a steep descent takes us to the Kimrong River. Then we climb another steep climb from Kimrong river to Cheredanda, descend for a while, then a gentle walk to Chomrong. Chomrong is a beautiful village nestled in the lap of the mighty Annapurna. The hotel offers spectacular views. Overnight at Chomrong.

We've been trekking in the Western Himalayas for a few days now, so it's no surprise that the name of our next destination on the Annapurna Base Camp trek came up. Our sights are set on a small cluster of lodges known collectively as the Himalayas. To get there, we will descend from Chomrong and cross the suspension bridge over the Chomrong river before following the trail to Sinuwa. The trail will bring us through green forests and past waterfalls, and Sinuwa ridgeline offers beautiful mountain views that rival anything we've ever seen. From here, the trail alternately ascends and descends through bamboo forests, where lucky hikers may be able to spot langur monkeys. After finally reaching the Himalayas, we get plenty of rest.

Undoubtedly, today is the most exciting day of our Machhapuchhre Base Camp Trek itinerary. Our route is set through ancient glacial moraines and small stands of birch to reach the iconic Annapurna Sanctuary. There is some risk of encountering avalanches here, and we will check with locals to assess trail conditions before proceeding. Soon we reach the Machhapuchhre base camp, where the highest peaks of Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Annapurna South and Hiuchuli are visible. It's hard to imagine this spectacle getting any better.

Our final destination in the morning is Annapurna Base Camp, we will travel for 2 hours from Machhapuchhre Base Camp. And with a fine view mountains retrace our steps to the bamboo or a little further on the Sinuwa. However, today's hike is downhill, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Also, the trek through the majestic land of the Himalayas will always be with us with an extraordinary landscape to enthuse us from the first step to the last step. The return to Sinuwa is a bit challenging in terms of stairs but worth it with a good view of the lower valley of the area. Night in Sinuwa.

From Siwai (Kyumi), we trek our way to Siwai for 2 hours, Siwai is actually the last point of our trek from where we take local jeep/taxi/bus to Nayapul and Pokhara, overnight at the hotel in Pokhara

In the morning we can also do some last hour shopping. Then we headed towards Kathmandu. We grab seats in the left lane of the carriage for the best views of the rivers along the highway because this is our last time we will see them. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we transfer to our hotel; And we spend the day at our own leisure.
