Why Meals and Accommodation Are Crucial for Trekkers?
Many trekkers underestimate the significance of meals and accommodation during their journey, but these factors can make or break the trekking experience. Here’s why they are critical: Click for more…
Experience Required
Nar Phu Valley & Annapurna Circuit Trek is classified as a challenging trek. You will have to walk for 5-7 hours (uphill/downhill terrain), you will also have to face high altitude air with low oxygen. Therefore, previous trekking experience, physical fitness and a positive attitude are essential. It is a good idea to do regular exercise and jogging for a few weeks before the trek to increase our strength and stability. Previous trekking experience is basic but no technical skills are required for this trek. It is important for participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung and blood diseases to consult their doctor before the trek. It is also advised that you inform AlpineTrav Treks about your medical condition before booking the trek.
Acclimatization
Keeping in mind AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness), we have planned this package with a high level of awareness. Separate days are set aside for acclimatization. Going to high altitudes too quickly can be a serious medical condition that can lead to death. The higher the altitude, the less oxygen there is in the air. Therefore, our body needs a few days to adapt to the low oxygen environment. Before starting the trek, do some activities from your place or participate in any of the 1 or 2 day activities in Nepal.
AlpineTrav Treks advises guest(s) with known heart, lung or blood disease to consult their doctor before travelling. Mild headache, fever, loss of appetite or stomach ache are symptoms of AMS. (Altitude Sickness): AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions’ itineraries are designed to try to prevent AMS as much as possible. However, it is important to remember that some visitors are more vulnerable than others.
Team Composition
This trek will have a guide and assistant guide (4 trekkers: 1 assistant guide) and porters to carry the luggage (2 trekkers: 1 porter). This arrangement ensures that if someone in the group becomes ill or is unable to continue, the trek can continue as planned for the rest of the group. We have been operating treks for any size group, but a maximum of twelve people is usually ideal.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Nar Phu valley treks are considered challenging. The difficulty level of this trek is a result of the extreme altitude of the route. The highest pass in the region, Thorung La, is the highest pass on the trekking route, reaching an altitude of 5416 meters. Therefore, when trekking, you are always above 3000 meters. Some of the most challenging terrain, which is usually harsh, rocky and steep, is inherent in this trek, unlike many other treks. Although you have the option to skip some of the routes, doing so means you will miss out on key features of the experience. The only thing a trekker can do is prepare physically and mentally for the journey. So you should be moderately fit and must be walk adaptable to high altitude conditions.
Trekking experience is not mandatory to participate in the Nar Phu valley Trek. A good level of fitness is required. Previous experience is essential but we have allowed for proper rest and acclimatization days in our itinerary so that anyone with a good level of stamina and determination can undertake the trek. We recommend that you train yourself at least 3 months before the trek date to be ready for the trek. The fitter you are, the more enjoyable your trekking experience will be.
The Nar Phu is best done in the spring. This is the busiest time of year for trekking in Nepal due to the clear sky and sunny days. Even while temperatures will often be warm, mornings and evenings at higher elevations may be cool. There is currently no rain and the sky is mostly clear. The amount of greenery is particularly abundant at this time of year. The national flower of Nepal, the rhododendron, thrives in lower elevations and is particularly gorgeous. Lower-elevation pine trees will be calming and fragrant, while other wildflowers give a range of hues.
Autumn Season (Months of September, October, and November)
Autumn is a great time to go hiking due to the moderate temperatures, light winds, and few downpours. The sky is clear, the sun is shining brilliantly, and the mountains are beautifully visible. Since the sky is clear at night as well, you may take in the breathtaking starry heavens. By early September, the monsoon will have passed, leaving behind pleasant to warm weather. The golden/amber hues of the monsoon-grown greens provide a stunning contrast with the clear blue skies.
Nepal is a popular destination for trekkers, with a variety of trekking options ranging from easy to challenging routes. However, before embarking on a trek in Nepal, it is important for trekkers to do their research about where they are going, what they should and shouldn’t do, and to obtain detailed information about the permits required, as they can vary by region. AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions has a capable team of trekking guides teams who are highly skilled in dealing with any difficulties or emergencies that may arise during the trip. If you feel sick with altitude, the first thing you should do is inform your leader so that he or she knows what to do.
