Massif surrounded by Kali Gandaki gorge on the west, the Marsyangdi river on the north and east and Pokhara valley on the south is a section of the Himalayas that situates in north central Nepal. Annapurna IV is relatively easier to climb comparatively to other Annapurna peaks though Annapurna Peaks are regarded the most dangerous mountains to climb in the world. Here, Expedition teams to other 8,000 meters mountains such as Annapurna 1, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu of the same region used Annapurna IV as a base to acclimatize in the past.
Outline Itinerary (Annapurna IV Expedition)
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Day 02 -3 : Stay in Kathmandu, gear check, preparation
Day 04 : Drive to Bhulbhule (840m) and trek to Ngadi (930m)
Day 05 : Trek to Chyamche (1300m)
Day 06 : Trek to Dharapani (1960m)
Day 07 : Trek to Chame (2760m)
Day 08 : Trek to Pisang (3300m)
Day 09 : Trek to Humde (3519m)
Day 10 : Rest at Humde for acclimatization and explore surrounding (trek to Ngwal and back)
Day 11 : Trek to Annapurna IV Base Camp
Day 12 – 13 : At Base Camp for Preparation
Day 14 : Climb starts, Fix route to Camp I
Day 15 : Carry gears and food to Camp I
Day 16 : Move to camp I
Day 17 : Fix route to Camp II
Day 18 : Carry gears to Camp II
Day 19 : Move to camp II
Day 20 : Descend to Base Camp
Day 21 – 22 : Rest days
Day 23 – 24 : Ascent Camp II
Day 25 : Fix route to camp III
Day 26 : Move to Camp III
Day 27 : Descend to Base Camp
Day 28 – 29 : Rest days
Day 30 : Camp I (Our Sherpa guides once again check the route to Camp II)
Day 31 : Camp II (Our Sherpa guides once again check the route to Camp III)
Day 32 : Camp III (Our Sherpa guides fix the summit route)
Day 33 : Summit and back to camp III
Day 34 : Descend to Base Camp
Day 35 : Cleaning Base Camp, Pack up Base Camp and return to Humde.
Day 36 : Trek to Yak Kharka
Day 37 : Trek to Thorong High Camp
Day 38 : Cross Thorong La Pass and trek to Muktinath
Day 39 : Drive to Jomsom
Day 40 : Fly to Pokhara and Kathmandu
Day 41 : Leisure day in Kathmandu
Day 42 : Transfer to airport, departure onward destination
