Exploring the southern skirts of the Annapurna Himalayas, the Mardi Himal Trek makes its way through isolated trails at the base of Mardi Himal, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal trek on uninhabited trails. This makes it perfect for people who want to explore in solitude. The Mardi Himal Trek navigates through the Annapurna Conservation to provide beautiful trekking experience.

After landing at Kathmandu International Airport, the Mardi Himal trek has officially started. This is our all-inclusive trek that takes you close to the Pokhara trails. The drive is full of magnificent views over many hills. After a short drive to Kande, the trek begins and goes to Deurali. The trek through the green forest follows the Modi River and leads to a rest camp. As the treks are far away from human settlements, you will be completely absorbed by the Annapurna Conservation Area. A short break at the rest camp is followed by a walk through waterfalls, streams and lovely woodlands. With the Himalayas head into the Emerald Hills, the trek takes you to the high camp. Views of Annapurna Dakshin (7219 m), Machhapuchhre (6997 m) and Hiuchuli (6441 m) greet the rest of the point. The hike to the top view point is a beautiful trail that leads to a beautiful city point. Mountain views from Mardi Himal (5553 m) to Machhapuchhre (6997 m) and Annapurna I (8091 m) give you a taste of Himalayan glory. Afterwards, you retrace your steps to high camp and settle in for the day. When you take a different path and go to Siding Village, a clan awaits. Enjoying the Gurung culture, we get down from Lumre and go to Pokhara.

This cost includes permit, guide, porter, airfare, transport, accommodation and food. But the cost varies according to the size of the group, customize your trek: this is a general itinerary, which can always be “tailormade” individually. Mid-September to November (Autumn) and March to May (Spring) are the best seasons for trekking in Annapurna region.
June to August (monsoon) are the rainy months but this time is perfect for keen botanists and the skies are sometimes clear. During the trek, it offers magnificent spectacles of rhododendron flowers blooming in March, April and May.
It is recommended to trek in winter (December-February). Temperatures are cool in the mornings but not unbearable and it warms up during day hikes and most days have clear skies with great views.

Day 1
Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. After completing the visa formalities and collecting your luggage at the airport, please exit the arrival hall. You will be waited for outside the arrivals hall and taken to your booking hotel. Please see the placard with your name on it when exiting the arrival hall. And upon arrival at the hotel will be served welcome drinks and after you freshen up, will inform you about your trip.

Day 2
Stay in Kathmandu for trek preparation and exploration

Today we explore Kathmandu on an organized sightseeing tour. This will include a visit to the world’s largest Buddhist pilgrimage site, Boudha Nath Stupa. We also visit Pashupatinath, home to the country’s most famous Hindu temple, situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. Here we will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims taking a ritual bath, and occasionally, pyres on the ghats. The cremation ground here is also used for the royal family and commoners living nearby. Your afternoon will be free to relax in the hotel garden or visit Thamel for some exciting shopping. You will be given your trek departure orientation in the afternoon by our senior guide.

Day 3
Fly to Pokhara then drive to Kande and trek Deurali 4 hrs

After breakfast, we boarded a twenty-minute flight from Kathmandu Airport to Pokhara. During the flight, the views from your window seat give you a panoramic view of the majestic Manaslu and the snow-capped Annapurna mountains. After reaching Pokhara drive for 45 minutes to Kande and take a break for lunch and then walk for 4/5 hours to Deurali.

Day 4
Trek from Deurali to Forest Camp (2,550m) 4/5 hrs

Today after breakfast we will walk from Deurali on the way to the forest camp. The journey lasts around 4 hours and we will leave the main Annapurna Sanctuary trail. Crossing the forest we reach Forest Camp or Coker. After lunch, we proceed to the forest camp, which has small teahouses and lodges. Stay overnight at the forest camp.

Day 5
Forest Camp to Lower Camp (3,050m) 4/5 hour

Today’s trail sees growth in rhododendron forests and later, traverses a sparse landscape. The lower camp is a clearing in the forest and has a few teahouses.

Day 6
Lower Camp to High Camp (3,600m) 4/5 hrs

From Low Camp after breakfast, our trek today continues to High Camp. High Camp is pasture land and boasts scenic views all around. From the high camp one can see panoramic views of Annapurna (8091 m), Nitchuli (6441 m), and Machhapuchhre (6997 m). And stay overnight at the high camp.

Day 7
Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) and return to High Camp

The highlight of our trek today is a visit to a scenic spot called the Mardi Himal Base Camp. The climb takes about 3 hours and involves a steep walk through pastures and narrow rocks. Mardi Himal Base Camp offers a panoramic view of majestic mountains like Mardi Himal (5587 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna Dakshin (7219 m), and Hichuli (6441 m). After spending some time in the view, we will retrace our steps to the high camp. And will stay at High Camp night.

Day 8
Trek from High Camp to Siding (1,850 m) 5/6 hrs

We have our breakfast in the High Camp and head towards the Rest Camp for today. The trail sees a decrease in altitude and the trail is mostly downhill. Traversing these lush forests, we make a refreshing walk with numerous streams and abundant wildlife of the region. The Siding village is the last stop in the Mardi Himal Trek and is a fairly lively settlement. The residents here are mostly of the Gurung community and practice Buddhism. And this day overnight stay at Siding.

Day 9
Drive from Siding to Pokhara (827m) and explore the Pokhara

The initial leg of the trek involves walking for about 3 hours to reach Lumre. From here, we catch a bus and drive to Pokhara. The drive to Pokhara is short and upon arrival in Pokhara, you will have lunch. If you have time, then you can visit the Bat Cave and the Bindyabasini temple in Pokhara. Other major attractions in the city are Mahendra Cave, Davis Falls, and the World Peace Pagoda.

Day 10
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1350m) 6 hrs

In the morning we can do some last hour shopping. Then we headed towards Kathmandu. We grab the left lane seats of the tourist bus for the best views of the rivers on the highway because this is our last time we will see them. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we transfer to the hotel; And we spend the day at our leisure.

Day 11
Departure from Kathmandu
