Annapurna Dhampus trekking (1750m) is situated to the north from Pokhara valley beside stunning views of golden rice terraces from farmer. Trekking to this village offers wonderful sights  of mountain, nature landscape and internal silence. Numerous species of birds to the village of Dhampus populated welcoming by the Gurung committee. Tourists usually stay here as a halt point. This trekking route is  best as leads  in the Annapurna region. Dhampus hill is one of the best view point of Nepal places from where  one can clutch the outstanding view of Pokhara and the landscape gets even better as the sun goes down.
The elevation does not reach over 2000 meter therefore it is not a strenuous trek.  Weather along the trek is quite warm except in December and January. Here snow is not expected. The trail is very much used by local people and traders. Teashops dotted all along the trail make the walk interesting. The famous Machhapuchare peak (Matterhorn of Nepal) can always be seen from any point on this trek.


Outline itinerary of the Annapurna Region Dhumpus Trek 8 Days
Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel by our representative
Day 02 : Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley, overnight at hotel.
Day 03 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (approximately a 6-7 hrs, overnight at hotel
Day 04 : Drive to Phedi, trek to Dhumpus, overnight at Lodge
Day 05 : Trek to Australian Camp, overnight at Lodge
Day 06 : Trek to Sarankot and descend to Pokhara. overnight at hotel
Day 07 : Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 6-7 hrs. Overnight at hotel
Day 08 : Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination

Day 1
Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel by our representative.

After you reach in Kathmandu, you will be picked by our airport representative at the Tribhuvan International Airport and after that you will be transferred to the particular hotel.

Day 2
Day 02 : Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley, overnight at hotel.

Today, the sightseeing trip will start in the morning after breakfast. The major sightseeing attractions are; Pashupatinath temple, Swoyambhunath (the Monkey temple), Boudhanath; Kathmandu durbar square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square which has cultural and historical significance and are enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage List.

Day 3
Day 03 : Drive to Pokhara 6-7 hrs. Walk and stroll around Lake Side, Phewa Lake .

After breakfast, we leave Kathmandu and drive for 6-7 hours we travel to Pokhara by tourist bus, or car depending upon the number in your group. You will be walking through exciting panorama of river and landscape. Then, you will get into the hotel and you relax in the afternoon on your own. You can visit around lakeside region or you can go for boating at Fewa Lake. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4
Day 04 : Drive to Phedi, trek to Dhumpus, overnight at Lodge.

Meet your guide at the airport or hotel in Pokhara and then drive to Dhumpus Phedi; the drive is about 1 hour- about 40km north west of Pokhara city. You drive through a large Tibetan camp at Hyanjha where local handicraft can be purchased and weaving of Tibetan carpet can be observed. The next village before Phedi is Suikhet. Depending upon weather, physical and logistical condition Suikhet provides alternative route to Dhumpus. The road to Phedi in the Yamdi Khola (river) valley is quite good.From Phedi you start climbing up hill to Dhumpus (1770m). It takes about 2 hour easy walk up the stairs through the terraced rice field. It is a large Gurung village. There are several tea houses and lodge accommodations in this village.

Day 5
Day 05 : Trek to Australian Camp, overnight at Lodge.

From Dhumpus the trail climbs steadily and gradually to Pothana (1890m). The gradual uphill walk is about 2 hours. Lunch stop at at Pothana. Instead of taking the main trail to Ghandrung (1951m), one of the best-known villages in the foothill of Annapurna, situated above Modi Khola (river) you take the trail to Australian Camp (2232m); it is a well known name and has vantage point to see the Himalaya range all around. The trail from Pothana turns southwest to Khare (1524m) and Naundanda (1457m). In the beginning you make a gradual uphill ascend for about 45 minutes. After spending sometime at the vantagepoint you continue to descend the trail to Khara (1457m); it should take about one hour easy downhill walk. Overnight t Lodge.

Day 6
Day 06 : Trek to Sarankot and descend to Pokhara. overnight at hotel.

On the last day depending upon your flight schedule to Pokhara either you walk to Sarankot or descend to Phedi to take bus to Pokhara. The walk on the Kaski ridge from Naundanda to Sarankot (1592m) is pleasant. The walk is on the level ridge with open space all the way. The views of Annapurna and Machapuchare can be seen all along. Though the gravel road runs parallel to the trail yet it is nice to walk along the ridge. The day hike from Naundanda to Sarankot can take about 4 hour, Sarankot is a popular viewpoint for tourist and local to see the surrounding view and the Himalaya. Depending upon your time from Sarankot you can descend to Phewa lake and take boat to Pokhara. Transfer to airport Fly to Kathmandu or Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 7
Day 07 : Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 6-7 hrs. Overnight at hotel.

Leaving behind the wonderful countryside morning, we travel for 6 -7 hours we return back to Kathmandu. We can either take a vehicle for a drive or fly back from the beautiful city Pokhara. On arrival at Kathmandu you will be shifted to the hotel. You can then relax for rest of the day and stay overnight at hotel.

Day 8
Day 08 : Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination.

Today, after the breakfast, we are transferred to Kathmandu airport for our final departure.
