Balthali Village is situated at the junction of Roshi and Ladku Rivers at 1730m from the sea level, and 40km away from Kathmandu. Balthali Village Trekking is a multi day trek without high altitudes. This is a relaxing area to trek and remains relatively uncrowded compared to more popular routes in Nepal. This trek takes anywhere between 3 to 6 days and can be done year round. This is an ideal multi day hike where the trek starts from Kathmandu Valley leading you a familiar time ahead and also ends at Kathmandu Valley. Through past Buddhist Monasteries, and rural hamlets including the lovely Balthali Village, crossing amid terraced rice fields and dusty red coloured thatched farmhouses , with glimpses of the snowy Himalayan Peaks and a bright green forest welcomes you to this site.
Our actual trek starts from the oldest Hindu Temple of Nepal, named Changunarayan Temple which is enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This temple is located at the end of a long ridge that runs well into the Kathmandu Valley. It is a temple enriched with Pagoda styled architectures. Numerous monuments you get to know about there.
From Changunarayan, heading to the way, we reach to Nagarkot which is a beautiful scenario. From here, we closely get to attach our soul and body to stunning mountains and greenary nature climbing an interesting tower located there from where mountains like, Mount Everest, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar and many more can be viewed.
Now from Nagarkot, we head towards Dhulikhel whose trail descends to nature beautifully decorated with National Flower of Nepal, Rhododendron. View of rows of snowcapped Peaks and ancient residents of Nepal, Newari people and its artistic monuments are the major traits of the place.
After a time spend at Dhulikhel, we head towards Namobuddha, a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. It is situated at 1750m. Here, there is a special Buddhist Legend about Kind Mahasattva offering his body to a hungry tigress at this place which makes Namo Buddha a holy site for Buddhist residential people. This Buddhist monastery situated at a hilltop is best suited to sight a panoramic views of mountains. You could feel so lucky to view the mountains from Namobuddha hilltop, incase you miss to view the nature from Nagarkot view tower because of some weather forecast imbalance. Finally, a trek continues to Balthali village, passing a beautiful greenary trail. Here all the common, major traits of the village can be closely interrelated with ones life and have a great time. At an ultimate day of trek at Balthali Village.
