Bardia National Park

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, pickup and transfer to hotel. Check in at the hotel with a welcome drink. After some rest in the evening, visit the tourist market of Thamel.

Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and drive to Bardia National Park by private car and transfer to hotel. Arrive and relax at our Tharu Bar or beautiful garden and sunset view tour. Discover Tharu life and culture through our Tharu Village and Culture Tour. It is essentially a dance performed by local Tharu dance troupes and is the highlight of any visit to the Forest Hideaway. You will see colorful dances with traditional costumes and music.

Half day walking safari with packed lunch. Inland walking allows you to explore a rich variety of forests, grasslands and rivers. It's a great way to see wildlife and nature up close. Your guide can provide in-depth information about your habitat, detail the plant and animal life you'll encounter, and provide you with brief information on general trekking tips. A full-day jeep safari with packed lunch (minimum 4 people must join the group) is the fastest way to explore the park, allowing you to travel deep into the forest. You will visit some great view towers and go off-road in a four-wheel drive for an unforgettable safari experience. Optional Activities: Rafting if possible (minimum 4 participants in a group if convenient). An early morning 30 km drive by jeep will drop you at the Karnali River. Then spend a day on peaceful rafting at Komal Karnali. Drifting along the river allows you to spot wildlife, especially the endangered freshwater Ganges dolphins, gharial crocodiles, exotic birds and large game along the nearby river banks. It is also possible to swim and sometimes dolphins may join you!

Early morning Bird watching followed by chance to relax or explore the surrounding village. Explore the community forest, river habitats and open water areas to see the wide range of varieties of birds. Bird watching is best done on foot for the least disturbance, but you can take a jeep safari or drift down the Karnali River for sightings of the many river birds. Our well-trained guides can help identify the different varieties of resident and migratory birds encountered. During the months of September, November, February and April, migratory birds arrive to augment then number of residential birds giving birdwatchers a great opportunity to enjoy their sport. Departure after lunch to Nepalgunj Airport by private car and fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to your own Hotel.

After this relaxing trip, if you are interested in other activities, we can arrange trips according to your wishes. That is, if you decide to leave Nepal, we will transfer you to the airport for your onward destination.
