Everest Panorama Trek – 10 Days, Overview

Everest Panorama Trek, also known as the Everest View Short Trek, is an easy and short trek designed for those who want to see Mount Everest but do not have enough time to go to the Everest Base Camp. This short trek in the Khumbu region offers panoramic views of the most beautiful mountains: Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (8000m), Peak 38, Thamserku (6723m), Khantega (6782m), Kwande Peak and many other smaller peaks. The trek is not only a view of the mountains but also an opportunity to visit beautiful Sherpa villages and get a close look at their fascinating Buddhism, culture and traditions.

Our actual trek starts from Lukla, after a scenic flight. And this short trek passes through several villages, then through the jungle to reach the higher ground. It is a non-technical climb, but the trekkers will have to climb some steep hills and rocky stairs. You will providing with impressive views of the lush landscape of dense pine forests and rhododendrons. The Everest region is also known for its wide range of flora and fauna.

The Everest Panorama Trek Trail passes through the Everest National Park and amazes visitors with glimpses of Himalayan wildlife’s. The itinerary included in the package offered by AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions is a guideline and standard format, which can be modified according to your time and needs.
The itinerary can be changed after mutual understanding between AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions and the client. Additional activities can also be added or subtracted as per the client's request before the tour confirmation.
If the client wants to add some services, we will charge him for those additional services and if he wants to subtract some services, we will remove the charges accordingly.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Kathmandu Airport

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. After completing visa formalities and collecting your luggage at the airport, please exit the arrival hall. Your tour leader will be waiting for you just outside the arrival hall and will take you to hotel in Kathmandu. Please look for a placard with your name on it at the exit of the arrival hall. Then depending on the time, you will have time to walk around the hotel and familiarize yourself near hotel.

Day 2 :

Cultural Sightseeing tour around Kathmandu

Kathmandu Valley is full of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are many architectural and historical wonders in the bustling streets and alleys. On this day, after some breakfast, set out to explore the true beauty of Kathmandu.

Alternatively, you can visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square located near Basantapur or Freak Street. Walk through the courtyards and temples - evidence of ancient culture and religion. Definitely worth a visit in this area is the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Museum, which was once the palace of the ruling Shah dynasty. From there, you can go to the Swayambhunath Stupa located on the top of a hill on the western outskirts of the city. Enjoy the peace and serenity from the spot and enjoy the panoramic view of the entire city. Depending on the time, you can also visit one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world, the Pashupatinath Temple. You will see pilgrims from different parts of the world for the rituals. Although the main temple area is off-limits to non-Hindus, you can explore the large temple complex.

Alternatively, you can also visit Boudhanath, one of the world's largest circular stupas, located northeast of the city. Tourists also like to visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, located a 30-minute drive from Kathmandu city. It houses the palaces of the medieval Malla dynasty and temples and shrines from that time.

Day 3 :

Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding

Depending on the month of your trip, your flight to Lukla will depart from either Kathmandu or Ramechhap Airport. During high season, flights to Lukla usually operate from Ramechhap, which is 130 km east of Kathmandu, requiring a 4-hour drive. If your flight departs from Ramechhap, you will need to wake up at 2:00 AM to start the drive, and the flight itself only takes 15 minutes. Upon arrival in Lukla, you will begin your trek up the Dudhkoshi Valley on a well-marked trail, making your way to Phakading for the night.

The estimated dates for flights to Lukla from Ramechhap Airport are March 25 to May and September 20 to November. During other months, flights will all depart from Kathmandu Airport.

Day 4 :

Trek to Namche Bazaar from Phakding

Today we will continue our journey along the banks of the Dudhkoshi River which will take us through pine forests. After crossing suspension bridges and small settlements at several places, we will reach Monjo. In front of Monjo is the entrance to the Everest National Park, planned to care for and protect the fragile mountain environment. Descending from the park, and crossing another suspension bridge, we will proceed towards the high Hillary Bridge located at the foot of the mountain. Crossing this bridge, we will climb up to Namche Bazaar. From where we can get a view of the Thamserku mountain range. If the weather is clear, we can see the first views of the Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Kusum Khangru mountains.

Day 5 :

Acclimatization Day

We will spend an additional night in Namche to ensure proper acclimatization to the altitude. Namche Bazaar, a thriving village nestled in a large protected hollow, offers an opportunity to adjust to the high altitude. After breakfast, you have several options: Like you will be can hike to the Khunde, Khumjung and Thame village and Everest View Hotel or a nearby viewpoint. After hiking, we will return to Namche for lunch, and then, you will have free time to explore the bustling town of Namche Bazaar.

Day 6 :

Trek to Tengboche Monastery

Today we will trek along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, which is a glacial route. This route offers views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Thamserku and Ama Dablam. Our trek continues through colorful blooming, red and white rhododendron forests to Sanasa. This area is rich in wildlife, including musk deer and colorful pheasants. There is a junction point at Sanasa. One trek takes us to the Gokyo Valley, while the other branch takes us to Tengboche Monastery. We will climb Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region. From there, we will see 360-degree panoramic views of the Everest region, including many surrounding mountains.

Day 7 :

Enjoy the sunrise over Mt. Everest early in the morning and trek to Monjo

Say goodbye to the wonderful Tengboche village. Since the weather in Tengboche is unpredictable throughout the day, start your trek early after breakfast. Descend to the Imjatse River, then a steep climb of about an hour will take you to Sanasa. From there, a winding path will take you to Namche Bazaar. Have your lunch for the day at a nice restaurant in Namche. Then, as you look back at the village and Mount Everest in the background, you will follow the rugged path into the lush forest. You may also spot musk deer, Himalayan Tahr, or the rare red panda. The path takes a steep descent to the Dudh Koshi River. Cross the river via the suspension bridge at Jorsale. This is the buffer zone of the Everest National Park. From there, you will walk south to Monjo village. Monjo is a small village that is also known as the checkpoint or entrance to the national park. Stay here tonight.

Day 8 :

Trek to Lukla from Monjo

After breakfast, you will take the first leg of the trek down to Benkar. From there, you will walk across a suspension bridge and reach the ghat for lunch. From there, continue your trek through a steep gorge. The climb is gradual until you reach the village of Chablung. Cross a dense forest of birch and juniper; then, you will soon reach the Pasang Lhamu memorial gate. Where you will leave your bags after reaching your standard lodge in Lukla, then hit the road and have fun with the locals. There is a lot to explore in the small village. There are various shops in the area where you can find lovely souvenirs to take back home. The people here are friendly and welcoming. You can grab some locally made drinks and enjoy your last night in the Khumbu region with the locals and our team.

Day 9 :

Fly to Ramechhap and drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will board your flight back to Kathmandu at Tenzing Hillary Airport. As time passes, you will see the snow-capped mountains fading away in the distance. Return to the mountain paradise - Kathmandu! Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be transferred to the hotel. You can relax at your hotel for some time. Later in the afternoon, go on a walk or hire a bicycle or taxi to explore the nearby areas. If you missed visiting any of the World Heritage Sites earlier in the trip, you can complete it today. Alternatively, you can also enjoy some yoga and meditation at the designated center. Tell your guide your preference.

Day 10 :

International departures, or join optional activities

Finally, you will be returning home, taking the memories of Tengboche Monastery, located in a quiet village with snow-capped mountains in the background, where our representative will transfer you to the international terminal. If you wish to extend your visit to Nepal or go on a similar trek, you can contact us at any time.

ACCOMMODATION

We will stay in Kathmandu at Hotel Vajra or similar category, which is a standard tea house/lodge during the trek, and this is all included in the cost of the trip. However; during the trek, your accommodation will be in simple teahouses/lodges with basic and shared facilities.

Most teahouses/lodges in the Everest region have squat toilets: most bathrooms are usually shared but we will arrange for you and your group to stay in local lodges on a daily basis. Please note that some of them are very basic and a sense of adventure is required.

In Kathmandu, your accommodation will be on a twin-shared basis and if you wish to have a single room, upon request you will need to pay a single supplement as mentioned in the trip cost. However, please note that there are less teahouses along the trekking route that do not allow single room accommodation. Paying a supplement guarantees a room in Kathmandu, but this may not always be possible in trekking areas. It’s generally impossible to arrange private rooms. This is the case even if you’re willing to pay extra since the teahouses owners will not give out a private room if it means someone else goes without a room.

MEALS ON THE TREK

During the trek, we will serve typical Nepali food, various ethnic dishes as well as all kinds of international dishes (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, and so on, Indian cuisine) from pizza and chips to apple pie. And breakfast includes bread, eggs, pancakes, muesli, granola, konflux, porridge as well as tea, coffee and hot milk with fresh fruits. Similarly, hot lunch will be served on the way to our next destination. Upon reaching the destination, meals and breakfast will be served at the teahouse/lodge where we will spend the night. However, in Kathmandu, we will only provide breakfast. Because you can taste the food you like, as there are high-quality delicious foods from different countries available. Therefore, you will have to arrange your own lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu.

DRINKING WATER

We provide boiled water for drinking purposes in all our teahouses/lodges or camping treks. We strictly discourage the use of single-use plastic bottles such as mineral water on all our treks. Therefore, it is highly recommended to carry a hot water bottle. And you can ask your staff to fill the bottle with water.

NOTICE: Domestic flights to and from Lukla.

Unexpected weather conditions in the Everest region can sometimes cause Lukla flights to be canceled. So; what do you do if your flight is canceled at the last minute? If you have limited time in Nepal, we have several alternative options for Lukla flight cancellation. Be well-informed about this important issue in advance!

How difficult is the Everest Panorama Trek?

Duration for treks of this grade stretches up to one (1) weeks. Trails generally go above 3500 meters and on a daily basis, you can expect to be walking for about 5 – 7 hours. Trekking trails involves occasional difficult days. Expect ups and downs as well for there will be hills to climb as well.

What is the best time to trek to Everest Panorama?

The best time to trek to Everest Panorama Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (October to November) months when the weather is favorable and suitable for climbing at high altitudes. These seasons offer crystal-clear mountain views with clear skies. The trek can also be done in February and early September but the trek is best done during the above months.

Do I need travel insurance for this trek?

We advise all our clients to get travel insurance that covers up emergency evacuation that may be needed in case of the occurrence of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) or any other reasons in high altitudes where there are no other means of transportation available. It is advisable to review carefully the insurance and its coverages before making the final decision. Will I have to carry my own stuff?

You will only carry your day pack which will contain the essentials you will need during the trek (water, camera, extra fleece, rain jacket, sunscreen, snacks, valuables, etc.). The rest of your luggage will be carried by a porter. We provide 1 porter for every 2 participants.

Is my trip departure guaranteed?
