Please look out for a placard of your name at the exit of arrival hall. Your trip leader will await you just outside the arrival hall and will escort you to your hotel in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, we take a 8- hour scenic drive to Syabru Besi, a little trading town for the Langtang area. After driving for 30 km, we approach pristine villages on the banks of the river Trishuli. We also get to view the enthralling panorama of the Himalaya, including the Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and peaks of the Langtang region.

The first part of the trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail is a gradual ascent up to Bamboo passing through landslide zones. Afterwards, we trek down gently to Rimche (2400m.) through Bamboo (1960m.) which lies at the banka of Langtang Khola. En-route we can see red pandas, playful monkeys and bears if you are lucky.

After breakfast, we continue climbing amidst occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees. At Ghore Tabela (3000m), the trail emerges from the forest. While walking hereabouts, we get to observe playful white monkeys enjoying themselves and hear the sweet chirping of merry local birds. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery we can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The houses of Langtang and its neighboring villages are of the flat-roofed Tibetan style, surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley.

The trail skirts gradually through rich yak pastures and interesting customary villages of Muna to Singdun. We cross a wooden cantilever bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine. Finally, on ascending the mountain passes, we arrive at Kyagjing Gompa. There is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory hereabouts. We can sample some of the fresh cheese down here.

This is the exploration day of the trek where we relax embracing the nature. We’ll explore Kyanjin Gompa and the local cheese factory as we explore the Kyanjin vicinity. We can also go for a hike to Tserko-Ri (4984m), from where we can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Langtang range along with other smaller peaks.

From Kyanjin Gompa, we’ll ascend through trails with sparse vegetation. We cross a suspension bridge over Langtang Khola and arrive at Chhana Lake before reaching Ngengang. After a tiring walk amid the bare hills, we’ll reach Ngegang where we’ll rest for the overnight. Overnight at a tented camp in Ngegang.

After breakfast, we’ll set out for our rigorous walk where we reach Keldang via Ganja La Pass (5130m), which is covered in snow throughout the year. Ngegang to Keldang is the hardest part of the trip as we are required to walk through the icy and slippery path. Upon crossing Ganja La Pass, we will descend on a steep trail to reach Keldang. Overnight at a tented camp in Keldang.

After an early breakfast, we set out for our trek to Dhukpa from Keldang. The trail consists of many highs and lows, a descent towards the valley along the ridge, and an easy walk on the grasslands that takes us to Dhukpa. Overnight at tented camp in Dhukpa.

Today, our trek descends in the beginning, and subsequently, we make a steep climb to reach Yangri Peak. Trekking along the pine and rhododendron forest, we reach Tarkegyang, a large Sherpa village. We can visit the old monastery called Gekye Gompa, in the evening, as we explore the village. Overnight at lodge in Tarkegyang.

Walk through Ghyangul and Chimighyang will take us to the beautiful village of Sermanthang which is very rich in culture as it is inhabited by the Sherpa community. The village serves equally satiating natural landscapes. You can spend the evening interacting with the locals. Overnight at lodge in Sermanthang.

We’ll have a healthy breakfast to kick start the day. We will descend through the ridge with a view of Melamchi Bazaar until we reach Chautara at the end of the ridge. Trekking through a forested path filled with small monasteries, we arrive in Kakani. We’ll be exploring the natural settings of Kakani where we’ll rest overnight. Overnight at lodge in Kakani.

The trail descends through the Chir pine forests and meadows to reach Melamchi Pul. En route, we pass several small villages and temples before we get on our vhicle in Melamchi Pul.
