The Green Lake located in the North of Sikkim at the base camp of Mount Kanchenjunga on the Zemu Glacier is known to be one of the most captivating of all treks in the area.

Green Lake Trek is the most picturesque one in comparison to all the other high altitudes treks in Sikkim. The journey  initiates from Kathmandu heading Bharadpur via flight. Crossing all the borders, within few hours we reach to Sikkim. and our final trek heads  from the capital city of Sikkim; Gangtok. Here, on the way, while ascending and descending in this trek, we pass through various scenic beauties like forest full of rhododendron flowers, magnolia, daffodil, rare orchids, pine and oak trees and many more. Fresh water with stunning waterfalls can be experienced overthere with great open heart. Therefore, this trek to beautiful lake gives you the utmost lifetime beautiful experience.

Day 1

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel

Day 02: Fly to Bhadrapur and scenic drive to Gangtok (3-4 hrs), transfer to Hotel

Day 03: Sightseeing around Gangtok with Rumtek monastery

Day 04: Drive Gangtok to Lachen 2700m, 6 hrs.

On the morning, jeeps will take you through the North Sikkim Highway. After driving for around 6 hours, you will finally reach the gorgeous town of Lachen. On your way, you will through several tourist spots like Phodong Monastery, Tashi View Point, Cuungthang, KabiLongstok and Mangan. After arriving in Lachen, check in into a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 05: Trek to Talem 3240m, 5/30 hrs.

The trek for the day will start from Zema; a 20 minutes driving destination from Lachen. Arriving in Zema, get started with the very first phase of this trek and start hiking along the Zemu River that will take you towards west. As you will be trekking through the dense rhododendron forests and uneven terrains, the trek will be a slower one and will take you around 5/30 hours. On reaching Talem, you can also go for a short excursion around the region and discover its natural beauty; overnight stay will be in camps.

Day 06: Trek,Talem to Jakthang 3300m, 5 hrs.

Today morning, you will be starting your trek from Talem to Jakthang. 5 hours trek, it will take you through rhododendron forests of different colours. After your arrival in the Jakthang campsite, have lunch and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 07: Jakthang to Yabuk 3850m, 4/30 hrs.

While on today’s trek towards Yabuk, you will be passing through dense forests. Trekking for around 3 hours, you will reach a point, from where you can enjoy the demanding views of the Zemu Glacier. Here onwards, trek for another 1/30 hours and reach the Yabuk campsite; overnight stay in the camp.

Day 08: Trek Yabuk to Rest camp 4500m, 4/30 hrs.

Today’s trek will follow the Zemu Glacier and takes you over the boulder laden terrains. Remarkable views of the deep Zemu Chu Ravine will keep you stunned all through the way till you reach the Rest Camp. Situated on the other side of the Siniolchu Mountain, you can also spot Blue Sheep and the local Bharal grazing around the mountains; the night will be spent in the camp.

Day 09: Trek Rest Camp to Green Lake 5050m, 4/30 hrs.

Starting with a gentle climb through the valley, you will gain some height today. If the day remains calm and clear, you can also enjoy the gorgeous views of the Mount Siniolchu, Simovo, Twins and the glorious Kanchendzonga Peak. Trekking 4/30 hrs, you will finally reach the Green Lake. Take in the alluring charm of the lake and enjoy the clear reflection of the Mt. Kanchendzonga on the lake waters before you sign up for your overnight stay in a camp along a flat grassy meadow beside the Green Lake.

Day 10: Rest day at Green Lake

After so much of tiring and exhilarating ascends and descends, today you will be spending the entire day relaxing and resting beside the Green Lake. Do nothing during the day, but enjoy the magnificent beauty of the nature, Mt. Kanchendzonga, Zemu and Talung valley.

Day 11: Return trek to Yabuk

After a rest day beside the Green Lake, today, start trekking return towards Yabuk: Overnight stay will in the Yabuk camp.

Day 12: Continue trek back to Jakthang

Another day of trekking 4 hrs, will take you back to Jakthang. Overnight in camp.

Day 13: Trek Jakthang to Lachen

Today will be the last day of trekking. With today’s trek, you will reach Lachen, where you will spend overnight in a hotel.

Day 14: Lachen to Gangtok; Sikkim Green Lake trek, you will be drive from Lachen to Gangtok.

Day 15: Drive to Bhadrapur via Bagdogra and fly back to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.

Day 16: Sightseeing at Kathmandu valley, overnight at hotel

Today you go around Kathmandu valley and see Durbar Squares at Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan. Visit to Boudhanath will be unforgettable experience since it is one of the biggest stupas in Nepal. And, Swayambhunath located top on the mount in the city known as the Monkey Temple will also captivate you. Also, you will visit Pashupatinath, at the bank of Bagmati River which is one of the Hindus sacred places. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Transfer to airport, departure on your own destination

Today, our airport representative will drop you to the airport and then you will depart from Nepal.
