Related to this trip FAQs
Although it is possible to climb Hiunchuli Peak all year round except during the monsoon months, the best times to climb Hiunchuli Peak are spring and autumn. The spring season runs from March to early June and is also the busiest climbing season of the year. The autumn season runs from September to November when temperatures are moderate and the weather is clear. Climbers have attempted to climb Hiunchuli Peak in the winter in the past, but the extreme cold during the winter months can be quite dangerous for some. Summer weather invites rain and does not offer good views during the climb. Therefore, we do not recommend it.
Hiunchuli Peak climb are considered difficult to climb due to long duration trekking/climbing in remote and isolated areas going above 6000 meters and sleeping at altitude of 5000 meters for several days. Mountaineers require excellent physical condition. On the day of the summit, you will leave the base camp at 2 am and return to the base camp only in the afternoon. This grade includes the use of climbing equipment (harness, ice axe, crampons, mountaineering boots, Screwgate Carabiners, Descender/Figure of Eight). Previous experience is essential and we also provide a climbing course at base camp before the actual climb where your climbing guide will teach you the proper way to use the equipment.
It’s mandatory and highly recommended to get travel insurance before embarking on any adventurous trips. We advise all our clients to get travel insurance that covers up emergency helicopter evacuation that may be needed in case of the occurrence of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) or any other reasons in high altitudes where there are no other means of transportation available. It is advisable to review carefully the insurance and its coverages before making the final decision. More information: Travel Insurance
You will be guided by experienced and knowledgeable Sherpa climbing leaders who have successfully summited the peak multiple times. Some climbing leaders have climbed Everest at least once or a few times in their climbing career. Your climbing guide will support you from day one, providing important tips and teaching you tricks. They will also provide you with pre-climb training the day before the climb at base camp. Our climbing guides take the climbing journey seriously. This will ensure that your health or well-being is not at risk.
The guides have many years of guiding experience in trekking/climbing. Most have been exploring the Himalayas for years. Our guides are also trained in first aid and know how to handle any situation. All our guides speak fluent English and are happy to share their in-depth knowledge of the culture, geography, flora, festivals, lifestyle with you. They also have enough experience in taking visitors to special places or special cultures, which can engage people in what they are experiencing, explain it well and entertain them. Our guides are well versed in how to make the journey comfortable and safe while appreciating the beauty of the Himalayas.
The cost of any trip to the Himalayas depends on many factors, including the company you choose, the services they offer, the number of days, the different routes, and more. The cost is like buying an iPhone – some come with fewer features for a lower price, while the latter with increased features will cost a bit more. Typically, the price of climbing Chulu West Peak ranges from $3350 to $4300 per person.
You will enjoy 3 delicious meals each day. Typically, you will have your breakfast and dinner at the lodge where you are staying. Lunch will be arranged at tea houses or small restaurants along the way. However, when staying at tented camps during the climb, we will also provide packed lunches along with tea or coffee. However, both breakfast and dinner are freshly prepared by our own climbing cooks. The meals include fresh fruits and organic ingredients sourced from Kathmandu or local villages. The meals include a balanced diet of carbohydrates, proteins and fats designed by a nutritionist. The chefs are trained in hygienic food preparation. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and kosher diets can be arranged if required with prior notice.
