Your 7-day Kathmandu Valley and Chitwan National Park tour begins in the valley where you visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites scattered across Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan), and Bhaktapur, all cities within the Kathmandu Valley. These sites showcase Kathmandu’s rich cultural heritage, such as its architectural marvels and ancient Hindu and Buddhist relics. During this trip, you will also visit Nagarkot, a hilltop village in Bhaktapur, an ideal location for stunning Himalayan views. You will end your tour in Chitwan, famous for housing another World Heritage Site, Chitwan National Park.

At Chitwan National Park, you will enjoy bird watching and a relaxing elephant safari in the tropical forests of Chitwan, as well as getting to know the indigenous culture of the region. Get up close to some of the endangered animals that live in the park (one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tiger, marsh Magars, etc.) and experience the unique culture of the Tharus (an indigenous tribe that lives in the forests of Chitwan).

Day 01 :

Arrival in Kathmandu Airport

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative from AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions will be waiting for you at the airport, and as soon as you exit the airport hall, you will be transferred to Hotel Vajra. You can then relax or take a leisurely stroll around the hotel for the rest of the day. In the evening, there will also be a welcome dinner hosted by AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions. For dinner, you will be served delicious Nepali cuisine that will introduce you to the country’s food culture.

Day 02 :

Tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambunath and Boudhnath

After breakfast, you will start with a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepali art and architecture at its finest. The architecture is typical of the Malla Dynasty that ruled Nepal from the 12th to the 18th centuries. Swyambunath Temple is popularly known as the Monkey Temple among foreigners due to the large number of monkeys in the area. Pashupatinath Temple is located on the banks of the Bagmati River and is one of the major temples of Lord Shiva. Boudhnath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia, built on an ancient trade route to Tibet.

Day 03 :

Sightseeing at Patan and Bhaktapur then Sunrise or Sunset views from Nagarkot

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient art and architecture. You will also visit Bhaktapur, an unparalleled city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved for centuries, isolated from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, you will get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, the water fountains and the 55-windowed Durbar which together provide visitors with a magical outdoor theatre atmosphere. You will also immerse yourself in the authentic delicacies of the locals of Bhaktapur. (Then):

Today you will also visit Nagarkot, a village in Bhaktapur, situated at 7,200 feet and boasting stunning Himalayan views. It is also famous for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. Depending on your choice, you will visit Nagarkot for sunrise or sunset. Overnight at Nagarkot.

Day 04 :

Drive from Nagarkot to Chitwan Sauraha

Today after your breakfast, you will drive to Chitwan, which is 189 km from Nagarkot via Kathmandu. You will descend via a winding road along the banks of the Trishuli River. After checking in at the resort, you will be briefed about the activities to do during your stay in Chitwan. You will then walk along the banks of the Rapti River to enjoy the sunset over the sub-tropical forests of Chitwan. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner with a short cultural program showcasing the unique Tharu tribal dances of the Chitwan region of Nepal.

Day 05 :

Chitwan National Park, Jungle safari

Early in the morning, you will be taken on an elephant safari through dense grasslands to see wildlife in their natural habitat. After breakfast, you will visit an elephant enclosure and bathe the elephants. In the afternoon, you can drive through the forests and then take a boat ride on the Rapti River. While canoeing, you can get up close to gharials and crocodiles, as well as freshwater dolphins, otters, and a variety of water birds. Or, you can also go bird watching or nature trekking and get up close to the diverse wild flora and fauna found in the park. Spend the night in Chitwan.

Day 06 :

Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu

Early in the morning, you will spend your time bird watching as Chitwan National Park is home to a variety of resident and migratory birds. You will then have breakfast and drive towards Kathmandu. You will reach there by evening and enjoy your farewell dinner to celebrate the successful end of your trip in Nepal.
