Khudi Ghalegaon trek is one of the shortest treks in Nepal. Ghalegaon beautiful village located 205 km northwest of Kathmandu in the Lamjung district of Nepal, also known as Ghalegaon trek or Gurung heritage trails trek. It offers panoramic views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna and surrounded by the legendary central hill tribe Gurung Ghalegaon. (7937 m), Annapurna IV (7525 m), Lamjung Himal (6932 m), Buddha Himal (6974 m), Himal Chuli (7893 m), and many other smaller peaks.

The Annapurna region is a prime destination for treks to the peaks of Khudi Hills. Ghalegaon, Ghapokhara and another traditional village, are located on the hill near northwest of Khudi. From the moment you enter these villages, you will feel the genuine hospitality of the unique Nepali people. First you will be warmly welcomed by the villagers in typical local style then you will observe typical local music and dance. Khudi, Ghalegaon and Ghapokhara are some of the villages where the traditional old caste cultures are still practiced so a homestay in the village bears witness to the well-preserved culture, lifestyle and values.

Opened only a few years ago, the Khudi Ghale Village Pokhara trek is sure to enthrall you with its unique culture and distinctive hilly location. Many activities can be done in and around Ghalegaon including bird watching, visit to Uttara Kanya Temple, Batase Cave, Pempro Fall and Khudi Hydroelectric Dam. Known as the Heritage Trail Trek, this trek can be done from a few days to a week depending on the time spent on the hill. This homestay trekking trip is best done in spring and autumn. Trip Itinerary

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. After completing the visa formalities and collecting your luggage at the airport, please exit the arrival hall. You will be waited for outside the arrivals hall and taken to your booking hotel. Please see the placard with your name on it when exiting the arrival hall. And upon arrival at the hotel will be served welcome drinks and after you freshen up, will inform you about your trip.

Today, after breakfast in Kathmandu, we will follow the Prithvi Highway along the Trishuli River to the west, looking at the central Himalayan homeland Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre mountains. This road offers a panoramic view of rural Nepal with green hills, rivers, villages and snow-capped mountains in the background. We will part ways with the highway in Dumre and will choose the exit of the Beshishahr branch and go to Khudi where we will spend the night in a lodge.

Our journey to the ethnic Gurung community begins with a walk along the bank of a river, marvelous trekking through the trees, forests, crop fields, waterfalls, and other villages. After some uphill climbing when we get to Ghale Gaun, we will be greeted by the local pure hospitality.

Ghale Gaun is a wonderful village to stay some days and explore the life within the community beneath the Himalayas. Get up early to see the spectacular sunrise over the majestic mountains like Machapuchare and Annapurna. Walk around the villages to see the traditional lifestyles, cultures, and traditions. Also, take part in the local cultural program when locals perform their well-preserved classical dances and songs while wearing their typical cultural dresses.

Today we will come across Ghanpokhara where lives the popular honey hunters in Nepal. You can visit the best honey hunting sites there. After a while, we will get to Ghan Pokhara, observe their amazing lifestyles and cultures, and continue further to Baglungpani for the night stop.

We continue our trek towards Baglungpani slowly on this day. Baglungpani is a mixed cultural village town that has typical markets, much different than what you see in the cities. Overnight in Laxmi Bazaar.

On this very last day of our trek, we walk for a couple of hours in the early morning to arrive at the freshwater lake, Begnas Lake. Do some boating and exploring around the lake before you drive back to Pokhara.

Today we will return to Kathmandu. Kathmandu is two hundred kilometers away from Pokhara. Prithvi Highway connects Pokhara to Kathmandu. It takes 6 hours to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara. Upon arrival in Kathmandu you will be transferred to the hotel and rest for the day or explore the surrounding areas and spend the night at the hotel.
