Ladakh Kang Yatse Peak Climbing

Kang Yatse Peak Climbing is situated above 6000 meters in a remote and secluded area and is considered difficult to climb as it has to stay sleep 2/3 night at an altitude of 5000 meters. That’s why climbers need excellent physical condition. On the day of the summit, you will leave the base camp at 2 am and return to the base camp only in the afternoon. This grade includes the use of climbing equipment (harness, ice axe, crampons, mountaineering boots, climber). Previous experience is required and we also offer a climbing course at base camp before the actual climb where your climbing guide will teach you the proper way to use the equipment.

The best seasons for Kang Yatse Peak Climbing are (July to Mid September). In this Kang Yatse Peak Climbing trail, steep climb, and descents. A valid passport and tourist visa are required to visit India. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into India. To get a India visa, you will need the following documents:

• Two recent passport-sized photographs with a light (white) background.
• Cash (USD) depending on the number of days you plan to stay in India.
• A passport valid for at least six months.

Yes, it is required. Due to its proximity to the China/Tibet border, a permit known as an Inner-Line Permit (ILP) or Restricted Area Permit (RAP) is required to enter every part of Ladakh. This permit can be obtained in Leh. Which should be booked through a local company in Leh. (+Climbing permit also)

You will be guided by experienced and knowledgeable local climbing instructors or Sherpa climbing leaders from AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions who have successfully summited the peak many times. Some climbing leaders have also climbed Mount Everest at least once or a few times in their climbing career. Your climbing guide will support you from day one, providing important tips and teaching you tricks. They will also provide you with pre-climb training the day before the climb at the base camp. Our climbing guide will take the climbing journey seriously. This will ensure that your health or well-being is far from at risk.

You will only carry your day pack which will contain the essentials needed during the trek (water, camera, extra fleece, rain jacket, sunscreen, snacks, valuables etc.). The rest of your luggage will be carried by the Mule.

It’s mandatory and highly recommended to get travel insurance before embarking on any adventurous trips. We advise all our clients to get travel insurance that covers up emergency helicopter evacuation that may be needed in case of the occurrence of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) or any other reasons in high altitudes where there are no other means of transportation available. We provide delicious and nutritious food on our trek/climb in Ladakh. For breakfast we provide porridge, milk, bread, toast, cheese, chapati and eggs. There will be hot drinks including juice, tea, hot chocolate and coffee.

On arrival at the camp in the afternoon you will have biscuits and a hot drink such as tea or coffee. Around 6pm we serve a three course meal in the mess tent. The starter is usually soup with popcorn or poppadom. We will have a variety of main courses and carbohydrates including rice, potatoes, noodles, macaroni or pasta. We will cater for a variety of dietary requirements. Most of our meals are suitable for vegetarians. If there is a meat dish we also provide vegetarian options as standard. We will find out if you have any dietary requirements at the time of booking and agree on meal plans before departure.
