Lamayuru Hemis Manastery Trek; from Lamayuru A very interesting route beginning at the famous Lamayuru monastery After Hinju near Kongskila on the 3rd day of your Trek you will enter the famous Hemis National Park till you finish your Treknear Hemis at Marsteling approximately you will walk 80 km in the Hemis National Park

Hemis National Park: There you can find many rare wildlife/bird species including the beloved Snow Leopard, Ibex, Antelope, Tibetan Argali, Blue Sheep, Shapo, Marmot, Red Fox, Tibetan Wolf, Eurasian Lynx and Tibetan Hare etc. Meet the snow leopard in summer. Among the birds one can see snow pheasant, golden oriole, snow cock, golden eagle, horn lark, red billed chaff etc.

Next days. From Chilling we cross the Zanskar river. Then we proceed towards Marka Valley – Mark valley is considered to be one of the most beautiful valleys in Ladakh. Here you will pass many Ladakhi settlements as you walk through their farm fields and observe their lifestyle. Several small river crossings will be involved, but they are not dangerous. Crossing many more short paths through gorges and wide open pastures, we end the trek at the village of Marsteling. And there will be our on private basis, vehicle to Leh.

Difficulty

Lamayuru Hemis Monastery Trek or Lamayuru Hemis trek is a moderate trek reaching up to a maximum elevation of 4950m at Konzke-La pass and a maximum overnight elevation of 4800m at the Dundungchen-La. This three weeks trek includes crossing one high Khongmarula pass above 5000m and is a fully camping based trek. Physically challenging due to the higher elevation, involves daily trekking of approximately 6–8 hours.

Day 5: Trek to Wanla (3250m), via Prinkiti La (3650m)
Day 6: Trek to Hinju (3750m)
Day 7: Trek to Sumdo Doksa via Konzke-La (4950m)
Day 8: Trek to Lanak Base of Dung Dung Chan-La
Day 9: Trek to Chilling 6 hrs via Dundungchen-La (4800m)
Day 10: Trek to Skiu village [11,160ft]
Day 11: Trek to Markha valley [12,370ft]
Day 12: Markha to Hankar [13,100ft]
Day 13: Trek to Nimaling [15,400ft]

Day 15: Drive to Leh via Hemis Monastery
Day 16: Rest day, explore Leh
