Langtang Valley Tilman High Pass Trek – 20 Days
The Tilman Pass Trek is a challenging and exciting high-altitude trekking adventure in the Langtang region of Nepal. Named after the famous British explorer Bill Tilman, the trek takes you through rugged and remote terrain, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, pristine lakes, and lush alpine meadows. The highlight of the trek is the crossing of the Tilman Pass at an altitude of 5,320 meters, which is a thrilling and rewarding experience for adventure and solitude-seeking trekkers. The Panch Pokhari (5 Lakes) is another attraction. Along the way, you will get to visit traditional Tamang villages, experience rich cultural experiences, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Himalayas. This trek is not for the faint of heart, but promises unforgettable memories for those who set out on the journey.
This trek is connected to Langtang Valley so you will stay and eat in a tea house (lodge) till kyanjin Gumpa then it will be a camping (tented) camping trek. beacuse, Langtang Valley not only offers a close-up view of the mountains but also a glimpse of the Tibetan Sherpa and Tamang lifestyle, ethnic communities living in the Himalayan region of Nepal. You can immerse yourself in the inner life of the locals, the beautiful forests along the way and the captivating mountains.

However, good equipment and mountaineering experience are essential to pass safely. Crossing the pass is quite technical and requires mountain equipment such as ropes and crampons. And rewarding your efforts the views from the pass are spectacular and you can see directly into Tibet also. A waterfall from the pass takes you from giant glaciers to a very different world of alpine meadows and cheese factories. Finally, descending from Tilman Pass we reach Panchpokhri. Then Tupi Danda, Bhothang and we will drive back to Kathmandu.
