Explore the nature and culture of Nepal while enjoying the magnificent scenery

The Langtang Valley trek is an excellent introduction for trekking rookies visiting Nepal to some of the most amazing views of the Himalayas. The closest Himalayan destination from the medieval Kathmandu Valley is the Langtang Valley. Ironically, despite being so close to Kathmandu, the region is a blockbuster for the wild with heavenly rural landscape like the Tibetan highlands that set the imagination into overdrive. The valley runs from west to east on a parallel keel with the border of Tibet. However, north of Kathmandu, we find the famous trekking trails, which are not as crowded as the Everest or Annapurna region.

The Langtang Valley trek offers trekkers an enchanting countryside ranging from lush green forests to lush high mountain landscape, and the panoramic views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Jugal Himal will make you dizzy. Because this Langtang was called ‘the most beautiful valley in the world’ by the famous British explorer Bill Tillman. And this has been the case since Tillman first discovered the area. The valley is surrounded by high peaks of amazing features and is known as a ‘treasure trove’ of alpine plants. The Langtang Valley trek is delightful in the spring season when the entire area is literally carpeted with beautiful flowers that leave the onlookers in awe.

Therefore; The Langtang Valley trek start from Syabrubesi, which is a one-day trek from Kathmandu via Trisuli. The trail cuts through densely forested areas of blue pine, oak, maple, spruce and rhododendron (a quarter of Valley Park is all evergreen forest). The trail follows the bank of the Langtang River to Kyangjin Gompa. Langtang Valley not only offer us the sublime view of 7,234m Langtang Lirung and 7,406m Ganesh Peak, we also see similarities between the people of Tibet and the lifestyle of the various tribes of Tamang and Sherpa communities living there. Similarly (4,773m) Kyangjin Ri is about three hours up and some one and a half hours down and offer panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayas if we want to explore the area. After exploring the area we proceed to Syabrubesi from where we return to Kathmandu.

Langtang Valley Trek Difficulty

The Langtang Valley trek is considered moderately challenging. This period extends to two weeks. The trails usually go above 4000 meters and on a daily basis, you can expect to walk for around 5 – 7 hours. Because sometimes there are hard days involved. Expect climbing as well because there will be mountains to climb too.
