7 nights 8 days for Lhasa Tibet Tour: You will first arrive in Kathmandu airport (1350m), and stay at a Hotel. During the formalities for your visa and permit for Tibet Tour, we provide you with sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley in which you will visit the Durbar Square, the Swoyambhunath, the Boudhanath & the Pashupatinath, all included in the World Heritage sites.

Our trip starts with a spectacular flight across the Himalaya from Kathmandu to Lhasa. You will see Mt Everest and a long range of the Himalayas from the flight. In Lhasa we visit the holiest of Tibetan Temple, the Jokhang temple and the nearby traditional market place of Barkhor bazar. Watching the Tibetan pilgrims who come to this temple from all over Tibet is a great experience and gives an insight on the religious Tibetan life. Our tour also covers the famous Potala and Norbulingka Palaces of the Dalai Lama and important Gelugpa monasteries of Drepung and Sera where there used to be up to 10,000 monks in the past .

Next day drive to Gyantse and visit the Kumbum Chorten and Pelkor Chode Monastery in the town. A short drive to Shigatse and a visit to Tashilumpho monastery. You will then continue journey to Tsedang. Visit the famous and first monastery in Tibet, the Samye Monastery.

The sights and atmosphere in Tibet are very different , unusual and unique. With exotic impressions and memories of Tibet and its friendly religious people we return to Kathmandu by flight. Therefore; This tour is suitable for people having a short holiday to visit Tibet and also for the elderly people who cannot cope with high altitude in other parts of Tibet and also for those who want to travel to Tibet with their off springs.

Details Itinerary

AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions representative will Drop you to Kathmandu airport for your Lhasa flight. After an hour scnic flight to Himalayan Mountains, you will be landing at Lhasa Airport. our representative will waiting for you to welcome you to Lhasa with your placards. Lhasa is situated on the north bank of Kyi-chu River and in the Tibetan language means "Place of the Gods". You will then be transferred to your hotel and assisted in the check-in process as well. It require rest and acclimitize at that height before any activities.

Visit Potala Palace, Ramoche Monastery and Norbulingka. The Potala Palace, the erstwhile home of the Dalai Lama, was built in 637 AD atop a single hill by the Tibetan king, Songtsen Gampo. Norbulingka, the erstwhile summer palace of Dalai Lama meaning ‘Jewel Park', is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and covers an area of around 3,60,000 sq. mt. making it the largest man-made garden in Tibet. Overnight at hotel in Lhasa.

Visit Sera Monastery, Jokhang Monastery and Barkhor Market. The Sera Monastery, north of Lhasa, is one of Lhasa's prettiest monasteries and once upon a time sheltered a community of more than 5,000 monks. Jokhang Monastery, situated in the heart of Old Lhasa, houses Tibet's most precious religious relic, a golden Sakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wencheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo. Overnight at hotel.

Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse (3950m) which is 261km distance and it takes about seven hours. Via Kamba La (4794m.) and Karo La Pass (5010m.) via with the Lake Yamadroke-Tso. Stay overnight at there.

Sight seeing in Gyantse Visit Khumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery at Gyantse.then drive from Gyantse to Xigatse(3900m),which is 90km Distance and it takes about 2 hours drive those the Tibeten Countryside.

Drive from Gyantse to Tsedang (3,400m), which is 310km distance and it takes approximately 6 hours and little more drive.Full day picturesque drive crossing over Karola(5,010m), Kambala (4,794m), and colourful Yamdruk lake. Continue drive along the Tibetan lifeline river Bramhaputra on to Tsedang overnight at hotel.

Drive from Tsedang to Samye Tsedang(3700m),which is 80 Km Distance and it takes 2 hours drive in the morning drive to Samye along the other side of Brahmaputra river and visit Samye Monastery (8th century 1st Buddhist Monastery in Tibet).and in evening Drive back to Tsedang and visit Yumbulakhang & Thandruk Monastery overnight at Hotel.

Early in the morning, Drive from Hotel to Airport Fly from Lhasa(3650m) to Kathmandu(1350m), in your morning flight you may assemble enjoy with Himalaya view of Nepal and Tibet ,Transfer to hotel.
