Lower Solukhumbu Eco Trek is a Community Based Eco trail is one of the best newly developed trekking trail which goes through the lower elevation of Solukhumbu and its neighboring district. This journey deals with People, culture, custom tradition, landscape and way of living in the lap of world tallest mountain Mt Everest. This trek would be the best option who is willing to explore lower elevation territory around Khumbu Everest Himalaya. During the journey we can witness Sherpa, Magar, Rai and other caste people living in a harmony following own rituals and religion. This trek is suitable for all age groups because it goes through lower elevation and the trail difficulty is less.

Lower Solukhumbu Eco Trek starts at Halesi Khotang at 1355 m elevation and Halesi is one of the famous Hindu temple in Nepal. Next day after visiting the temple the trail goes towards Lamidanda where we can see small airfield. We stay overnight at Lamidanda which seems like the hill station. On a clear day we can see good Mountain View from Lamidanda. The Next day trail goes downhill and crosses the river and goes uphill towards the village of Necha. Necha is one of the famous village in Solukhumbu district where Sherpa, Magar , Rai, Brahmin & Dalit people are living in a harmony and prosperity. They are following their own religion and rituals here we can see the majority of people following both Buddhism & Hinduism. Next day after we leave Necha our trek heads towards Kangel at 1700 m where we can see another small airfield. The way of building the houses are really unique and awesome here in Kangel village. The houses build here are mostly cold resisting inside which is very essential for winter. After Kangel the trail heads towards Jha-Sa which is 2690M high above the sea level where we can see the changing flora-fauna, people and way of living because here at this altitude it start getting more cold and the landscape seems more alpine. Next day we head towards Phaplu via Salleri which is the district headquarter we can see many people from nearby village coming here for shopping and for administrative work. As we continue further we can reach our destination Phaplu which is small town where there is small airfield. There are bunches of hotel, lodges, restaurants & bars. Next day we take a 7 to 8 hours Jeep from this to Kathmandu.

Lower Solukhumbu Eco Trek is the mixed flavored journey that traverse through the Pilgrimage town of Halesi in Khotang district and it goes through different terrain of Solukhunbu district where we can see Sherpa, Rai, Magar, Brahmin, Chhetri & Dalit people with their enriched culture and tradition. This trek would be the best choice if you are unable to do physically strenuous and high altitude trekking.
