Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport, and transfer to the hotel
Day 02: Drive to Lumbini (Bhairahawa), 7-8 hours overnight at hotel
Day 3-4: Lumbini and Tilaurakot (Kapilvastu)/Lumbini: Early breakfast at the hotel, visit Lumbini Garden for worship, then drive to Tilaurakot (Kapilvastu) covering major shrines such as Gotihawa, Niglihawa, and Kundan.
Day 05: Lumbini to Kathmandu: Breakfast at the hotel, then drive to Kathmandu.
Day 06: Swayambhunath & Boudhanath Stupa.
It is one of the world’s 2000 years old Buddhist stupa that lies on a hilltop and its origins are linked to the founding of the Kathmandu valley by draining the water of the lake by Bodhisattva Manjushri., 2 km far from the main Kathmandu city. Swayambhunath manifested in the lake as a brilliant light emanating from a lotus and Manjushree let the water out by slashing a passage through the surrounding hills to facilitate paying homage to swayambhu, thus making the valley inhabitable. This spectacular Buddhist stupa with the Buddha’s eyes gazing serenely down is worth visiting and is an enlisted World Heritage Site. From the hilltop, the views of the Kathmandu valley and the mountains look fabulous. A huge white dome surrounded by 13 spires, the stupa is one the most sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal and the world’s most enchanting, magnificent site.
Boudhanath is the center of Tibetan culture in Nepal and is regarded as one of the largest stupas in South Asia. It is located in the area of the ancient trade route to Tibet where Tibetan merchants rested and offered prayers for many centuries. When refugees entered Nepal from Tibet in the 1950s, many decided to live around Boudhanath. It is one of the serene places to visit around and is an enlisted World Heritage Site too.
Day 07: Full day sightseeing at Bhaktapur.
Bhaktapur should be on the top of the list of your trip to Nepal as here you would get to know the traditional dances, vibrant festivals, local lifestyle, and so on. Durbar square is one of the top attractions of Bhaktapur sightseeing tours which has a palace comprising fifty-five windows and it has a pagoda and temples of Shikara-style around it. For those who love arts, Durbar square would provide you with a wonderful glimpse of the earliest Nepalese art. The major highlights of Durbar square cover the stunning Lu Dhowka which is also referred to as the golden gate, the Lion Gate, and the picture gallery, the palace of fifty-five windows, Batsala temple, The Pashupati temple, and the statue of King Bhupatindra Malla.
Taumadhi Square is another top attraction of Bhaktapur and this temple which is dedicated to the Laxmi goddess is the tallest pagoda temple in Nepal. This temple is known for its brilliant architecture. Other attractions of Taumadhi square are the Bhairvanath temple along with Pottery square as well as the temple of Jeth Ganesh. You can find more temples in Dattatreya square and one should visit this place to view the amazing architecture and wood decorations. Dattatreya square also has the wood carving museum which is housed by the Pujari Math and the Brass and Bronze museum which is housed by the Chikanpha math.
Day 08: Kathmandu Durbar Square & Kirtipur.
The Kathmandu Durbar Square is an overwhelming frenzy of art and architecture. All wood carvings, statues, and architecture in this area are exceptionally fine. It is also known as Basantapur Durbar Kshetra. It is one of the enlisted World Heritage Sites. The Kathmandu Durbar Square held the palaces of the Malla and Shah kings who ruled over the city. Along with these palaces, the square surrounds quadrangles, revealing courtyards and temples. It is known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, a name derived from a statue of Hanuman, the monkey devotee of Lord too.
Kirtipur: It is a small historic town, situated 8 km to the southwest of Kathmandu Valley on the top of a hill. The town has many things to offer such as old shrines, temples, and old houses. Many of the town’s hilltop positions offer fine views over Kathmandu Valley with the Himalayan mountain ranges rising behind. The Hindu temples of Bagh Bairab, Uma Maheshwar, and Buddhist monasteries are worth visiting.
