Situated at an altitude of around 5,300 meters above sea level, the trek offers panoramic views of majestic mountains and picturesque valleys that will leave you breathless.

Namun la Pass Trek, also known as Tamuwan, boasts the remnants of a palace constructed by the Tamu community’s King in ancient times. During the holy Janai Purnima festival, thousands of dedicated pilgrims and visitors travel to this sacred site to offer prayers and devotion. For Hindus, the trek holds significant spiritual significance as a pilgrimage site, often considered a gateway to enlightenment. A notable aspect of the trek is the mysterious Dudhpokhari or Milky Lake, where it is believed that by taking a dip in its waters three times, one can cleanse all the sins committed in a lifetime, adding a deeper spiritual dimension to the trekking experience. This trek not only holds significant cultural and spiritual significance, it also serves as a veritable paradise for nature enthusiasts.

The region is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, offering trekkers the chance to catch a glimpse of some of its inhabitants during their visit. Along the way, trekkers will also come across picturesque villages, tranquil groves of oak, pine and rhododendron trees, and other captivating landscapes that add to the excitement and adventure of the trek. Trekking to Namun La Pass is a true test of endurance, as the path is steep, rocky and risky. However, the rewards of traversing traditional villages, lush forests, and a series of breathtaking passes and valleys make the effort worthwhile. The trek also offers a chance to see the majestic peaks of the Annapurna region, including Annapurna South, Annapurna I, and Dhaulagiri, as well as other famous Himalayan ranges such as Manaslu and Lamjung. This trek presents a rare opportunity to explore a unique trekking route in the Annapurna region. The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, which takes about 7 hours by jeep. From there, we will take a jeep to Kapurgaon, the starting point of the trek. The first day of the trek will be a 2-hour hike to Ghale Village, a quaint village adorned with traditional houses and friendly locals. Ghale Village is a great place to spend the first night, allowing you to slowly adjust to the altitude.

The second day of the trek brings a new level of adventure as trekkers will trek deep into the wilderness. The trek to Rabrachu spans six hours, winding through dense forests and crossing flowing rivers and streams. But the effort is worth it, as trekkers will be greeted by breathtaking views of the majestic mountain ranges, including the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. Nestled amidst this natural wonder, Rabrachu is a quaint village, offering a peaceful and rural atmosphere that makes for a perfect overnight stop.

On the third day of the trek, we will begin our journey to the picturesque village of Thorju. The road ahead is rugged, with steep slopes and rocky terrain. But as we move forward, we encounter awe-inspiring views of Mount Manaslu and the surrounding peaks towering above us. A quaint village perched at an altitude of 4500 meters, Thorju is a sight to behold. Its traditional houses and warm-hearted locals are a welcome sight after a challenging trek. But as we take in the beauty of this place, it is essential to take it easy and let our bodies adjust to the altitude. With each step, the rewards grow greater, and Thorju epitomizes that. So, let’s accept the challenge and reach for the skies.

On the fourth day of the trek, the opportunity to explore Dudh Pokhari awaits – a sparkling body of water known as Milky Lake. At an altitude of 5300 meters, it is a prime spot to view the grandeur of Mount Manaslu and its neighboring peaks. The path to the lake may be steep, but the stunning views make every step worthwhile. After enjoying the beauty of the lake, trekkers will return to Thorju to relax for the evening.

As the sun sets, trekkers set their sights on Danphe Kharka. The path winds through lush forests, revealing hidden gems of traditional villages. Trekkers will get a glimpse of the daily life of the local people as they return to Timang from Danphe Kharka. Next, we will trek from Timang to Chamje, climbing to an altitude of 2,650 meters (1430 meters / 4691 feet). Breakfast will be included. With a final 6-hour trek, the journey comes to an end, and trekkers bid farewell to the trek and retire for the final night in Timang.

Then, we will drive from Chamje to Besisahar, descend to an altitude of 760 meters (2493.44 feet) and return to Kathmandu. Each day, trekkers will be served breakfast to start the day off right, lunch to power through the trek, and dinner to refuel after a long day of trekking. Each meal is expertly prepared using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients and is a delicious blend of Nepali and Western flavors. As a special treat, trekkers will also have the opportunity to indulge in dishes unique and traditional to the region.

Simply put, the Namun La Pass trek is a journey of a lifetime. It is a test of strength and endurance, but it is worth every step.
