  • Relatively comfortable and non-technical climb

New Kanga peak is located in the Langtang region. It is a popular peak for climbing in Nepal. With good accessibility and immense enjoyment during the climb, this peak attracts many mountaineering enthusiasts to its peak. The New Kanga Peak Climb offers a journey.

Located near the Kathmandu valley, it is the nearest popular peak and is relatively easy to reach. The path begins of rhododendron oak and gradually leads to more rocky and marshy land. Passing Ghoda Tabela and Kyanjin Gompa, we reach Tserko Ri (4984m) which is a great place to view of the majestic Langtang Mountains.

After that, we will continue our journey to New Kanga Peak. After reaching the summit, one can see mountains like Langtang (7,227m), Sishapagma (8,013m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966m). Consisting of many peaks, glaciers, waterfalls and a variety of forests, the Langtang region is renowned for its natural beauty and is home to a variety of flora and fauna, from the rare red panda to the popular snow leopard.

This area is equally rich in terms of Hindu and Buddhist beliefs and culture. The ubiquity of Buddhism can be felt through the many prayer flags, wheels, monasteries, and chortens that people place along the way. With friendly people and a great chance to see mountains, this is an adventure that proves its worth. It is one of the less climbable peaks and requires no technical knowledge. However, it is a difficult trek and requires a good level of fitness for anyone attempting to climb it.

The success of any ascent depends largely on a well-planned itinerary and excellent logistics, and this is what we offer. We are committed to making Arohan a success with safe and quality service. Our emphasis is always on maintaining small groups to make it easier to coordinate and cooperate with each other. So we provide a 1: 3 guide in the customer ratio on peak days.

Trip Itinerary

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. Exit the arrival hall after completing the visa formalities. Your tour leader will wait for you outside the arrival hall and take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. And welcome drinks will be served at the hotel and after you refresh, your trek/climb leader will brief you about your trip at your hotel lobby in the evening.

After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed about gear preparation time. In the evening, you will be briefed by your trek and climbing leader about your next day’s trekking program. If you lack any trek and climbing equipment that you may need, this time can be used to arrange for it.

We go to Syabrubensi early in the morning. We will pass beautiful views of lush green hills, occasional views of snow-capped mountains, and some of the fastest flowing rivers in Nepal. Syabrubensi is the starting point for most treks and expeditions in the Langtang region so you can prepare for the trek.

Walking along the Langtang River, we slowly reach the Lama Hotel. We will pass small quaint Tamang villages with beautiful stone houses and get our first glimpse of the Himalayas. The prayer flags fluttering against the wind in the background of the village look beautiful and provide excellent photography opportunities.

Known for its rich flora, the region offers plenty of beauty while reaching Langtang village. We reach Langtang village via Gumanechok and Ghotabela. We will get a view of the Langtang range before we reach Langtang village passing several small waterfalls and streams.

Of great importance to the residents of the Langtang area, kanjin Gompa looks beautiful against a background of gray and white. Buddhist influence is so ubiquitous that we can see many prayer flags flying against prayer wheels and small man-made prayer houses. Langtang Lirung (7227m) and Langtang 2 (6596m) can also be seen from the village.

Today we will hike up to Tserko Ri (4984m). Through various pastures where yaks can be seen grazing, the sunrise from Tserko Ri is breathtaking. From a height of 4984 m, it offers a wonderful view of the valley below and a panoramic view of Langtang (7,227 m), Yala (5,500 m), Shishapangma (8,013) and Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m). This is a good time to take some beautiful photos and return to Kanjin Gompa after some exploring. For compatibility

Following the trail surrounded by juniper bushes and descending a little to cross the Langtang River, we will make our way to Ngegang. This trek offers spectacular views of Langtang Lirung (7227 m) as well as the Langtang Glacier. Due to the abundance of flora and fauna in this area, care should be taken to see various rare animals here. Snow leopards, red pandas and other species call this area their home.

Today we will walk uphill to reach high camp. The rocky ice landscape makes this area particularly difficult to walk on and one must be careful not to twist one's foot. Here too we will have magnificent views of the Himalayas, limited at first but turning into a panoramic view as we reach the top. The mountains include Langtang (7,227 m), Serkori (4,984 m), Yala Peak (5,500 m) etc.

Getting up before sunrise we will start the climb. The stars visible in the night sky motivate us to reach the peak and get the magnificent views. Following a steep climb from the north side, we will walk for a good while before reaching the summit. With 360 degrees of mountains, it makes for a fantastic photo session and a time to be proud of completing it. From the top, we can see the entire Langtang Lirung massif, glaciers, Tserko Ri (4984m), Yala Peak (5500m), Shishapangma (8013) and Dorje Lakpa (6966m) etc. After spending enough time here we proceed to Kharka. Summit day will be long and hard walking hours approx 10/12 hours.

An extra day is scheduled for any delays. Climbing a peak involves multiple factors such as weather and health condition, etc which can cause a delay or interruption to our itinerary. In such a case, our schedule might get affected. This contingency day will help us to make sure that our schedule will go on smoothly without interruption.

A relatively short hike today, we will descend and cross the Langtang River until we reach the suspension bridge. Then we will climb uphill for some time with beautiful views before reaching Kangin Gompa. We cross Chona Lake and follow the road to Kanjin Gompa.

We will cross some Sherpa and Tamang villages and some grazing lands en route to Rimche. As we finish hiking for the day, we will continue downhill through a forest with various wildflowers of oak and rhododendron. We will follow the Langtang River for the entire trek.

Today is the second last day of our walk and it is a good time to reflect on our achievements and feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment. As we reach Thulo Syabru, one can slowly feel the life of the city close to us. We follow the path through bamboo villages and some hot springs to Thulo Syabru.

It is an easy seven to eight-hour journey through scenic highways and typical countryside on the way back to Kathmandu. We check into our hotel and the rest of the day is free to relax and reflect on the wonderful trip.

Enjoy a free day. You are on your own. Participating in a day tour in Kathmandu can also be a fun plan. You can also go shopping in the tourist center of Thamel where you can buy souvenir items like handicrafts and art for your family. During the event, we will also taste a farewell dinner to celebrate our successful climb. While enjoying our dinner, we will also be entertained by a charming cultural dance performed by local bells.

Thanks for joining us on this peak climb and it's been a pleasure getting to know you this time. We hope this venture has enriched your experience with happy memories. Stay tuned and this is the last day of our trip. So we will transfer your departure flight homebound or airport to another destination. We look forward to welcoming you on your next adventure.
