Once you arrive in Kathmandu, AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions will arrange to pick you up from the airport. You will then be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you can relax in your hotel room. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions that will introduce you to the culture. Spend the night in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, you will begin your sightseeing tour by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepali art and architecture at its finest. This architecture is typical of the Malla Dynasty that ruled Nepal from the 12th to the 18th centuries. The Swayambhunath Temple is popularly known as the Monkey Temple among foreigners due to the large number of monkeys that inhabit the area. Pashupatinath Temple is located on the banks of the Bagmati River and is one of the major temples of Lord Shiva. Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia, built on an ancient trade route to Tibet.

Thimi is located about 10 km east of Kathmandu and is famous for its pottery, masks, puppets, hand-woven clothes and other handicrafts. The place is also famous for its sweet pounded rice grown in traditional fields. You will also visit Bhaktapur, an irresistible city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved for centuries away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, you can admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, the water fountains and the 55-windowed palace that together provide visitors with a magical outdoor theater atmosphere. You will also immerse yourself in the authentic delicacies of the locals of Bhaktapur. Changu Narayan is the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley and boasts of being the oldest pagoda-style building in Nepal. Today we also visit Nagarkot, a village in Bhaktapur located at 7,200 feet and boasts stunning Himalayan views. It is also famous for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. Depending on your choice, you will visit Nagarkot for sunrise or sunset.

Today you will be transferred to Tribhuvan Domestic Airport in Kathmandu, from where you will board a domestic flight to Bhadrapur. It will be a 4 to 5 hour journey from Bhadrapur Airport to Darjeeling, so we will take the flight as early as possible. From there, you will continue your journey until you reach your hotel. On the way, you will also see beautiful views of green hills, rice fields, streams, rivers, etc.

Early this morning, you will visit Tiger Hill to witness the sunrise over Kanchenjunga. On the way back, you will also visit Yiga-Choling (Ghoom) Monastery. After a tour around the monastery, you will return to the hotel for Darjeeling tea. After breakfast, you will be escorted for sightseeing around Darjeeling. Some of the places you will visit include Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, Tea Garden and Tea Factory, Peace Pagoda. Then in the evening, you will return to the hotel. Overnight at leisure.

Today after breakfast, you will take a 4-5 hrs drive (105 km) from Darjeeling to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Check in at hotel at Gangtok. Leisure overnight.

Early this morning, you will visit Tashi View Point, which is about 8 km from Gangtok. It is a relaxing place. The magnificent view of Khangchendzonga and Sinyolchu mountain ranges is the main attraction of this point. The monasteries of North Sikkim are also visible from this point, which is located along the North Sikkim Highway. Then we return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, you will visit the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms or Government Institute of Cottage Industries, Enche Monastery, Tibetan Science Research Institute, Rumtek Monastery in the evening which is free at the leisure center around Gangtok market. Overnight at leisure.

Today after your breakfast, you will drive 80 km from Gangtok to Kalimpong, a small town established by India for trade with Bhutan and Tibet. Check in to the hotel in Kalimpong. Overnight at leisure.

At kalimpong, there are few Tibetan Buddhist Gompas in Kalimpong as well. Among them are, the Tharpa Choling Gompa Durbin Monastry and other sightseeing places like Dello View point and Hat Bazar ( this was the Bazar in old days when they use to have trade to Tibet the horses use to stop here and the Silk route to Tibet starts from Here). Then, the evening will be leisure free. Overnight at Kalimpong.
