After breakfast, you will begin your sightseeing by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepali art and architecture at its finest. This architecture is typical of the Malla Dynasty that ruled Nepal from the 12th to the 18th centuries. Swyambunath Temple is popular among foreigners as the Monkey Temple due to the large number of monkeys residing in the area. Pashupatinath Temple is located on the banks of the Bagmati River and is one of the major temples of Lord Shiva. Boudhnath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia.

Early in the morning, you will depart from your hotel for an hour-long mountain flight and get close-up aerial views of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, the world’s second highest peak, Kanchenjunga, and other high Himalayas, as well as a clear glimpse of the Tibetan plateau. In the afternoon, you will visit Patan, Khokana, and Bungmati. Listed among UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient art and architecture. Khokana is famous for its vernacular village and its mustard oil seed industrial heritage. Bungmati seems somewhat untouched by time. Thimi is located about 10 km east of Kathmandu and is famous for its pottery, masks, puppets, hand-woven clothes and other handicrafts. The place is also famous for its sweet pounded rice grown in traditional fields. You will also visit Bhaktapur, an incomparable city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved for centuries away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, you will get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, the water fountains and the 55-windowed palace which together provide visitors with a magical outdoor theatre atmosphere. We will also indulge in the authentic delicacies of the locals of Bhaktapur. Changunarayan is the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley and boasts of being the oldest pagoda-style building in Nepal. Today you will also visit Nagarkot, a village in Bhaktapur which is situated at 7,200 feet and boasts stunning Himalayan views. It is also famous for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas. Depending on your choice, you will visit Nagarkot for sunrise or sunset.

Daman is located 80 kilometers south of Kathmandu and takes about three hours to drive through mountains, sparse settlements and rhododendron forests. Daman is a popular resort town located at an altitude of about 2400 meters above sea level and is known for its extensive Himalayan views, including Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lhakpa, Gauri Shankar and Cho Oyu. Bandipur is located at an altitude of 1030 meters in the foothills of the mountains, about 145 kilometers west of Kathmandu on the way to Pokhara. This hilltop settlement offers a great treat for urban eyes hungry for the company of nature, especially for the panoramic views of the Annapurna range. The town showcases beautiful wooden houses inspired by the centuries-old house-building style of Kathmandu. While staying here, you can also visit the Siddha Cave, which is famous in the region. Early in the morning you will depart for Sarangkot, a hill station overlooking the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges to the north and Pokhara city to the south. From here, you will witness the amazing views of the sunrise over the mighty Himalayas. You will then return to Pokhara and continue your tour of the city’s landmarks. Davis Falls is a unique waterfall that flows directly into a narrow and deep channel with no end in sight. Shiva Cave is located near Davis Fall and houses a temple dedicated to the primary Hindu deity, Lord Shiva. You will also do some boating on the Phewa Lake, Pokhara’s largest lake, and visit the Tal Barahi Temple located in the center of the lake. You will visit the famous International Mountain Museum (IMM) which records, documents and presents the history of the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world and especially in the Himalayas. You will also visit the Tibetan refugee camp and see how the refugees keep themselves busy by producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicraft items. Spend the night in Pokhara.

Today you will travel to Tansen, 125 km from Pokhara. It is a hill town with a magnificent view of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. On a clear day, you can see Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Gauri Shankar and other mountains. Tansen is also famous for its hand-woven Dhaka cloth, which is also used to make the Nepali national topi (cap). From Tansen, you will continue our journey to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, which is about 75 km from Tansen. In the evening, you can stroll through the local market. You can spend the night in Lumbini.

Lumbini is one of the most religious and historical places in the world. You will dedicate a full day to visit as many of Lumbini’s sites as possible. The place is filled with monuments, temples, and historical sites that make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. First, you will visit the Mayadevi Temple, which is built on the site where Buddha was born. You will spend some time wandering around the temple gardens. Then, visit the museum and the Shanti Shivalaya. Some of the important landmarks in Lumbini include: The Ashoka Pillar, built by Emperor Ashoka (249 BCE) at the birthplace of Buddha, which also has the oldest inscription in Nepal. There are many Buddhist temples established by devotees from different countries such as Tibet, China, Japan, Burma, Korea, etc. Today spend the night in Lumbini.

You will have breakfast and drive to Chitwan, which is about 180 km from Lumbini and will take a 5-hour drive. After checking in at the hotel, you will be briefed about the activities you will do during your stay in Chitwan. You will walk along the banks of the Rapti River to enjoy the sunset over the sub-tropical forests of Chitwan. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner with a short cultural program showcasing the unique tribal dances of the Chitwan region of Nepal. You will spend the night in Chitwan.
