Day 01 :

Siliguri/Bagdogra to Gangtok

On arrival at Bagdogra Airport or Siliguri (NJP) Railway Station, meet a AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions representative who will assist you in boarding your vehicle to Gangtok 4 to 5 hrs and brief you about your excursion. After leaving Siliguri, we drive on NH 31A through the dense forests of Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, a natural playground for wild elephants, tigers and deer. Sevoke comes with its promises of magnificent views of the Teesta River emerging from the deep gorges of the Himalayas and spreading across the vast plains of North Bengal. From Teesta Bazaar, a scenic drive follows through winding roads and Himalayan foothills to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Check in to the hotel and freshen up for a free evening at leisure. It is recommended to take a stroll around the Mall on MG Road to enjoy the unique hill town life of Gangtok and spend a comfortable night at the hotel.

Day 02 :

Gangtok Sightseeing

After breakfast we will proceed for local sightseeing in or around Gangtok which includes Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok. These views offer a panoramic view of the snow capped Himalayan peaks and Gangtok city. Proceed to visit Rumtek Monastery/Jhakri Falls, Institute of Tibetan Science to see Tibetan activities, Orchid House (collection of Himalayan orchids), Enche Monastery, Dodurl Chorton etc. In the evening visit the busy market of Gangtok on MG Marg, for shopping and to eat Sikkimese delicacies at local restaurants.

Day 03 :

Excursion - Tsomgo Lake and Baba Temple:

After breakfast drive for a memorable excursion to one of the highest Himalayan lakes, Tsomgo Lake. This beautiful oval shaped lake, about 1 km long and with an average depth of 50ft, is located in the East Sikkim Himalayas. From here we will drive 15 km to Baba Temple. Depending on the accessibility of the route, we can drive up to Nathula Pass (12,000ft) towards the China border. We will return to Gangtok by afternoon. Evening is free to explore around M.G. Marg, a popular shopping area of Gangtok.

Day 04 :

Gangtok to Lachen, Sikkim

After breakfast, we will head towards Lachen. The route meanders through small villages with valleys leading to the forested gardens of Kabi Langchuk. Then comes Singhik with the promise of one of the most magnificent views of Kanchenjunga. Situated at an altitude of over 4000 feet, Singhik offers a much-needed break to travelers on their way to Lachen. We will have our lunch en route. On the way to Lachen, visit Chungthang - the confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachun Chu (river) and the Vimanla waterfall. Reach Lachung in the afternoon. Lachen is also the base for the popular Green Lake Trek.

Day 05 :

Visit to Gurudongmar, then Lachen - Lachung

Early morning drive to Thangu village (4100m), a remote high altitude village of Tibetan nomads and then drive to Chopta Valley (4000m) for some breathtaking views of the alpine valley of frozen rivers. From Chopta Valley, drive another 30 km in 1.5 hours to reach Gurudongmar Lake (5225m), near the Tibetan border, which is the highest and largest freshwater lake in Sikkim, and return to Lachen for a late lunch. Check out from Lachen and reach Lachungthang via Chungthang. On the way, visit the Chungthang confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachun Chu and the Vimanla Jal waterfall. Then check in to the hotel.

Lachung - Another remote high-altitude village of Tibetan and Bhutia people in North Sikkim, with towering rocky snow-capped peaks, vibrant rhododendron valleys, lush yak pastures, perennial waterfalls, hot springs and a base for exploring the alpine valleys of Yumthang and Yumesamdong near the Tibetan Plateau.

Day 06 :

Lachung, Yumthang to Gangtok then explore

In the morning drive to Yumthang Valley, the Alpine Flower Valley of North Sikkim. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and hot springs and drive 30 km to Yumthang Valley, one of the highest motorable roads in Sikkim, Yumesamdong (4725m) near the Tibetan border or to the zero point. Full day tour of Yumthang Valley. From January to March the valley is covered with snow and in April and May there are rhododendrons. On the way visit the Sulphur Hot Spring with medicinal values. Have lunch at the hotel in Lachung. After lunch visit the Handicraft Centre and Lachung Monastery. Later return to Gangtok, arrive in Gangtok in the evening and check in to the hotel.

Day 07 :

Gangtok to Siliguri/Bagdogra 5 hrs:
