Paldor Peak (5896m) is situated just northwest of Kathmandu. It is one of the most popular trekking peaks in the Ganesh Himal region. It was first climbed in 1974 by John Cleare and Ian Howell. “Ganesh” name is taken from the elephant-headed Hindu god of good luck which is probably the most popular god with Hindus in the Kathmandu valley.

Paldor Peak Lies at the southeast end of Ganesh Himal marking the junction of the Tiru and Karpu Dandas at the head of the Mailung Khola, a tributary of the Trisuli River. On a clear day the Ganesh Himal, with the icy fangs of Pabil (7,101m), Logsang Karpo (7,150m), Ganesh I (7,406m) and Ganesh V (6,950m) can be seen forming an imposing backdrop to the northwest of Kathmandu. We reach to Paldor from Sabrubesi driving from Kathmandu. This trail meets the Langtang River. After crossing the Langtang River, the route leads via Tamang to the heritage villages of Tangjet and Gatlang. On the summit, you can enjoy stunning views of the Ganesh Himal range. Day 1
Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m)

Meet and greet upon your arrival at airport. You will be received by our company representative and transferred to the selected hotel. Welcome drink and a short brief about your trip.

Day 2
Day 02 : Get permits, preparation or sightseeing in Kathmandu

Today we arrange Paldor Peak climbing permits, you can do trip preparation or go visit ancient old Hindu and Buddhists temples such as Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath (known as a monkey temple among westerners).The area has an amazing range of fascinating highlights, whatever your interest. Excellent bookshops, extensive markets, and novelty and handicraft shops contrast with fantastic centers of cultural and spiritual significance – Kathmandu has more World Heritage sites than any other city in the world.

Day 3
Day 03 : Drive to Gyangsang from Kathmandu (1400m)

From Kathmandu, you take approx. nine-hours drive to Gyangsang. You will have first glimps have Ganesh Himal from there.

Day 4
Day 04 : Trek to Borang (1700m)

Today, we trek to Borang, a beautiful Tamang village. In the begging, we cross the Dundure Khola and walk through the Jharlang Village then steep climb up of about 3 hours brings us to Borang.

Day 5
Day 05 : Trek to Sertung (1920m)

From Borang, you walk for about an hour to reach a beautiful terraced farm land. Again we will see the Ganesh Himal IV (Pabil Himal) Ganesh III and Ganesh VII soaring high above Kalu Kunda near Ganesh Himal Base Camp. We will pass through Awi Village and walk up to Galka Danda the about half hour’s walk will take to Sertung, the biggest Tamang Village in the region.

Day 6
Day 06 : Trek to Narchet Kharka (3800m)

As you leave from Sertung, the early part of the trail goes gently down to Aata Khola then steep walk up to Kami Gaun, a beautiful black-smith community on the top small ridge. Then we trek through Tipling Village to Narchet from here, you can enjoy spectacular view of Ganesh Himal, lush green terraces, waterfall and several villages at a distance.

Day 7
Day 07 : Trek to Somdang (3,270m)

Today, you trek from Yuri Kharka to Somdang via Khurpudanda pass (3,620m). Till Khurpudanda pass the trail moves uphill and you begin to follow a decent path to reach Somdang. From the view point of Khurpudanda pass you can enjoy the spectacular views of Paldor, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Pangsang La, etc. En route you pass through forests. At Somdang you can observe the zinc mines. Today you trek for about five hours.

Day 8
Day 08 : Trek to Jasta Khani (3700m)

Leaving Somdang, you continue along the trail to Jasta Khani, which takes about five hours. Today you make a gradual ascent along the path passing through forests until you reach Paigutang Kharka. From here, the trail steeply goes up to Jasta Khani. On the way you cross rocky paths covered by juniper. There is a zinc mine at Jasta Khani as well.

Day 9
Day 09 : Trek to Paldor Base Camp (4,280m)

Today, you trek from Jasta Khani to Paldor Base Camp which takes about five hours. The trail ascends along the rocky glacier path. En route, you can enjoy the views of the Paldor Peak and other rock hills.

Day 10
Day 10 : Rest Day at Base Camp

Rest day at Base Camp for proper acclimatization for the preparation of Paldor summit.

Day 11
Day 11 : Climb to High Camp

Today you climb from Paldor Base Camp to High Camp which takes about five hours. As you continue along the trail, it moves through rocky glaciers. En route, you get completely mesmerized by the views of Paldor East and Paldor West.

Day 12
Day 12 : Summit of Paldor Peak (5,896m)

Leaving the High Camp, you trek to the Summit of Paldor Peak and return to Base Camp, this takes approximately nine hours. At the summit of Paldor, you get panoramic views of Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung, Ganesh I, II, III, Manaslu and along with views of Tibet mountains.

Day 13
Day 13 : Trek to Somdang (3,270m)

From the Base Camp, you walk straight downhill all the way to Paigutang Kharka. From here, the trail gradually descends to Somdang.

Day 14
Day 14 : Trek to Gatlang (3800m)

Cross the river at Somdang and continue flat road for a while then take short cut trail to Khurpu Danda, continue walk down to Gatlang Gompa where we can also vistit sacred Parbati Kunda. Another descend down to beautiful Tamang village of Gatlang.

Day 15
Day 15 : Trek to Tatopani (2607m), 5-6 hrs

Today, our trek begins by descending to Thangbuchet, near Chilime village by the Bhotekoshi River. Chilime Hydropower dam is situated here. After Chilime, we start to ascend first by crossing a small hanging bridge and continue until we reach Tatopani. Enroute, we have outstanding views of the Langtang Range and Ganesh Himal. Tatopani literally means ´hot water´, where one can cleanse in the natural hot springs.

Day 16
Day 16 : Trek to Nagthali (3165m). Thuman (2338m), 7-8 hrs

This will be the longest trekking day. This morning we climb to Nagthali which is at the height of 3165m, which was once used as a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. This is the highest pass of the area, lies in high open grassland and offers panoramic views of snow covered Langtang Lirung, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen Ranges. We descend down to Thuman.

Day 17
Day 17 : Trek to Bridim (2229m)

Walking through rhododendron forests and meadows we trek towards Bridim, another Tibetan influenced Tamang community located in the bosom of the Langtang Himal. About 43 houses are spread in Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of split shake. Here, we may meet other trekkers on the Langtang trail.

Day 18
Day 18 : Trek to Syabrubesi (1450m)

We follow the Bhote Kosi River on the left side of the valley to the north and then return on the opposite side. Passing through paddy and corn fields we finally descend to our campsite at Syabrubesi.

Day 19 : Drive Back Kathmandu (1300m)

Day 20
Day 20 : Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination
