Pangong Lake with Nubra Valley Trek Overview
Also known as the “Land of High Passes”, the Ladakh region is located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and is a barren but beautiful region. It borders Tibet. It is surrounded by the Kunlun Mountains to the north and the Himalayas to the south. It is a cultural center of Tibetan Buddhism. Its natural features are mainly high plains and deep valleys. Ladakh is a popular trekking destination due to its natural beauty, rugged terrain, majestic mountains, and the challenge of trekking it.
In Ladakh, the Nubra Valley is also known as Lumdra, which means “Valley of Flowers”, and is also known as the “Garden of Ladakh”. It is surrounded by the Karakoram Range and runs north. It is also known as the gateway to the Siachen Glacier. It is a stunning region of Ladakh and a famous trekking route in India. The valley is a tributary of the Shyok River, which flows parallel to the Indus River at the northern end of the Ladakh Range.
Your 11-day adventure begins with a flight to Leh. The flight takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. You will travel to Leh. The drive from Leh to Phang takes about 30 minutes. The journey begins in Phang. Then you will travel to the southern base of Phang Phu and Lazermo. You will cross the Lasermo La Pass. Then you will descend through several villages including the northern base of Lasermo, Hunder Dok and Hunder.
Where after spending the night, your next destination will be Pangong Tso (lake), a drive of 5 to 6 hours. should never be missed on this trip. It is the highest saltwater lake in the world, located at an altitude of over 4,350 meters. An interesting fact about the lake is that it can sometimes change colors from blue to green and sometimes even brown. Also, this salt lake is frozen by a huge ice sheet, which is polar opposite to the source of the saltwater. Therefore, Leh Ladakh is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet, with breathtaking views and nature that will amaze you. It is an ideal place to get away from your busy life and rejuvenate.
