Pharchamo Peak (6,187m) exists to the south of Tashi Lapcha Pass which links Rolwaling region to Everest Region. Rolwaling region has stayed far from modernism where time has stood still in ancient period. Pharchamo Peak was climbed for the first time in 1955 by following northwest ridge. Our climbing route progresses to the north-east of the icefall from Tashi Lapcha Pass and Base Camp of Pharchamo is at Tashiphuk.

This is the least crowded peak in Nepal. The Pharchamo climb is a rewarding experience offering panoramic views of Gaurishankar, Melungtse and many other peaks. A well-defined ridge extends to the summit above the Drolambu Glacier. Tashi Lapcha pass, visit to So Rolpa lake, visit to remote Rolwaling valley and observation of diverse flora and fauna and rich cultural diversity of Rolwaling valley and Khumbu valley are the main attractions of Pharchamo peak climb.

Summit Day

We will follow the classic route from the northwest ridge and cross the crevasse glaciers and seracs at the summit. It takes about 4 hours to reach the summit. 360 degree views of Gaurishankar, Everest, Makalu and other mountains can be seen from the peak of Phachermo.

If you lack any trek and climbing equipment that you may need, use this time to arrange for it.

Early in the morning we leave Kathmandu and go towards Dolakha. The route is scenic with views of Gaurishankar and other mountains and peaks. From Dolakha we will continue our journey towards Charikot where we can observe the local life closely. In about 8 hours we will reach Gongar river.

After breakfast, we will follow the trail that ascends along the west bank of the Tamakoshi River. Before reaching Chechet, we will continue to enjoy the waterfalls and reach the Tamakoshi River. We cross this river and climb uphill to reach Simigaon. We will keep our camp near a local gompa which allows a scenic view of Gaurishankar mountain range.

Early in the morning, we will head north from Simigaon and hike uphill through the colorful rhododendron forest. Leaving the forest, we reach a grazing area where local cattle can be seen grazing on the green vegetation. After a short climb, we will follow the path down to the river. We pass the small settlement of Calche and reach a wooden bridge. Crossing the bridge we reach Dhongang where we will stay for the night.

Today we will leave our campsite at Dhongkong after breakfast and cross the Rolwaling River from where the trail leads through pine, oak and rhododendron forests. We will climb up to the small village of Nyamare. The road passes through the farmlands of Ramding village to Beding, a major village in Rolwaling region. Beding village offers panoramic views of Gaurishankar Himal, Melungtse Himal and other peaks and mountains.

The route today takes us to a slightly higher elevation today where we will experience cooler weather. Leaving the Sherpa village of Beding, we will take a long and slow walk along the Rolwaling River to create a better environment. We will be blessed with close-up views of the surrounding mountains and peaks and awe-inspiring natural scenery. We will reach our camp at Na. It is a temporary settlement used by the locals to graze their cattle. We can see the amazing view of Chobutse Peak (6689m) which is above Tsho Rolpa.

A rest at Na is recommended before crossing the Tashi Laptcha pass at an altitude of 5,700 m. This will help us adjust better to the changing altitude. We allow this day to take a short walk and stay here

Spending unforgettable days in Nama, we will cross the river south to Yersa in Sangma, the last place of the cowherds. We will cross a wooden bridge and follow the path up through the moraines to the dam of Tsho Rolpa. Cho Rolpa is also known as Cho Pond. We will keep our camp south of Tsho Rolpa from where we can enjoy the view of Chobutse, Draker-go and other peaks and mountains.

We leave Chukima and pass through the Drolambu Icefall below the Tashi Labcha Pass to reach Jabowa. This is a tough hike. The journey continues through a valley with no sign of habitation. Experience the sheer wilderness of a distant land on this day.

We should start our trek early in the morning before sunrise. Walking through the glacier, we will cross a spur that allows easy access to the upper part of the glacier area. After 4 hours of strenuous climbing, we will reach the top of Tashi Lapcha which rewards us with a view of awe-inspiring scenery. The summit is marked with a kern and a prayer flag. We will go down to the other side and walk along the snowy lake to Tasi Phuc where we will stay for the night.

Today we will try to reach Ferchamo peak. It is going to be a short climb which continues for only 4 hours. From Tashi Phuk, we take a steep climb. Awe-inspiring views of the peaks of the Khumbu range greet us. After spending some time on the summit, we will descend 2 hours to Ngole where we will stay overnight.

Today is our free day which is allocated in the itinerary that our schedule will run smoothly without any interruptions even if there are complications during their climbing peaks. A successful adventure depends on many factors such as weather conditions and the fitness of our fellow crew members. In such cases, an emergency day would be useful to stick to the plan.

Leaving our camp today, we head east across the snowy slopes. The trail goes down to Thame River and then to Thengpo. The route is scenic with views of the peaks and mountains rising above the Thame River. We will go to the scattered temporary settlement of Thengpo. Along the pasture area, we follow the road to Thame.

Today we will leave Thame and go back to Namche Bazaar. The path is easy where we will follow the descending trail for most part of the trek. We will pass through rhododendron forests and small Sherpa settlements to reach Namche.

Last day of our trek through Dudhkoshi River to Lukla. After we descend from Namche, it is just a slow walk along the river Dudhkhosi. In between we have lunch on the way and we make our final ascent to the Lukla airstrip. The rest of the day is free.

Take a morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Soothe your aching limbs from the long and tiring peak climb.

Enjoy a free day. You are on your own. Participating in a day tour in Kathmandu can also be a fun plan. You can also go shopping in the tourist center of Thamel where you can buy souvenir items like handicrafts and art for your family. During the event, we will also taste a farewell dinner to celebrate our successful climb. While enjoying our dinner, we will also be entertained in a charming cultural dance performed by local bells.

Thanks for joining us on this peak climb and it's been a pleasure getting to know you this time. We hope this venture has enriched your experience with happy memories. Stay tuned and this is the last day of our trip. So we will transfer your departure flight homebound or airport to another destination. We look forward to welcoming you on your next adventure.
