The serenely valley boasts extensive pastures for yaks to graze during summer and the pristine turquoise lakes are simply breathtaking. The Trekkers usually fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, before the trek begins to Gokyo Lake situated at 2,815m. It is a popular place for visitors to the Himalayas near Mount Everest from Lukla to Namche Bazaar which is located within the Khumbu area at 3,440 metres, at its low point. If Gokyo is the main destination, then the trek goes up the Everest trail only as far as the tea-houses at Kenjoma (where the trail from Khumjung joins the main trail). From this point, the trail leads up towards Mong La pass before dropping steep back down to the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. The trail then leads past rhododendron and oak forests and waterfalls which are often frozen. A couple of hours on this enchanting trail and Dole.

Finally, just above the moraine you see the crystal clear lakes. It is also said as a holy lake where people from different culture visit.
