The Yuksom-Dzongri Trek is a captivating Himalayan adventure in Sikkim, India. This moderate to challenging trek takes you through dense forests, charming villages, and breathtaking alpine landscapes, culminating at Dzongri Ridge, where you’re rewarded with stunning panoramic views of majestic peaks like Kanchenjunga.

Yuksom-Dzongri Trek is one the the most popular short high altitude trekking destination in Sikkim. Yuksom-Dzongri trek is a shorter version of the Goecha-La Trek for those who has shorter time for trekking in Sikkim. Dzongri trek is specially suitable and designed for the trekkers who wanted to explore more in shorter period of time. In fact Dzongri and Dzongri La (view point) is the best spot for a view of the mountains and its ranges in the Sikkim Himalayas.

Difficulty

Duration for treks of this grade stretches up to two (2) weeks. Trails generally go above 4000 meters and on a daily basis, you can expect to be walking for about 4 – 6 hours. The perfect setting of introduction to moderate trekking. Activity level/physical rating is slightly harder than leisure and involves occasional difficult days. Expect ups and downs as well for there will be hills to climb as well.

Day 1: Arrive at Bagdogra airport and drive to Gangtok
Day 2: Visit Gangtok
Day 3: Gangtok to Yuksum (1780m)
Day 4: Yuksum to Sachen (2450m)
Day 5: Sachen to Tshoka (3000m)
Day 6: Tshoka to Dzongri (4000m)
Day 7: In Dzongri: Excursion to Laxmi Pokhari
Day 8: Dzongri to Tsokha (3000m)
Day 9: Tsokha to Yuksom (1780m)
Day 10: Yuksom to Pemayantse
Day 11: Pemayantse to Darjeeling
Day 12: Visit Darjeeling
Day 13: Departure from Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport
