The Mustang Teri La Pass and Nar Phu Valley Trek takes you through a landscape as dry and arid as the Tibetan plateaus. You will trek amidst an almost barren and stunning landscape near the Nepal-Tibet border. Enjoy breathtaking views of high mountains and hills with sparse vegetation. The trek is also culturally rich. You will explore the forbidden kingdom of Lo Manthang, which has long been isolated and has a unique culture and traditions. Furthermore, you will visit the less frequented Nar Phu Valley, untouched by modernization. The Mustang Teri La Pass and Nar Phu Valley Trek begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The next day, you will explore Kathmandu and visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Similarly, you will take a 6-7 hour drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, then take another domestic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. Your trek will start from Jomsom and end with a trek to Dharapani, Mustang Teri La Pass and Nar Phu Valley. Along the way, you will trek through lush forests, waterfalls and streams, crossing suspension bridges.

Furthermore, you will pass through the quaint villages of Kagbeni, Chaile, Geling, and Charang before reaching the walled city of Lo Manthang. Permits Required For Teri La Pass Trek

Permits are important documents that are required while trekking in different parts of Nepal. It is a part of a document that allows us to cross different sections on our journey.

Since Upper Mustang is home to the Teri La Pass on the border with Tibet. Therefore, it is a restricted area, so special permits are required to trek this route. Below is a list of permits that are required during the Teri La Pass trek:

  3. Upper Mustang Restricted Area Permit

These are the permits that allow us to do this trek without any hindrance. Solo travel is prohibited in these areas, so if we are traveling alone, we will not get any permits. Since it involves crossing a restricted area, the number of permits issued each year is also very less.
