Tharpu Chuli Peak also known as Tent Peak, located in the Annapurna region and known for its distinct shape, Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing offers a thrilling experience on the journey to its summit. Situated in the center of the Annapurna Sanctuary opposite to the Machhapuchhre (6997m), it is considered to be one of the easier peaks to climb. The climbing journey is not just famed for its rich cultural diversity ranging from the Gurung but also boasts of a plethora of ecological bounty.

In Tharpu Chuli Peak or Tent Peak Climbing trek, we will be making our way to Poonhill from where we will be able to view the magnificent panoramic view of the Himalayas. Continuing ahead, we traverse through the Gurung villages to reach Chomrong and further to Bamboo and Dovan. We will also be making our way to the Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Base Camp. These regions present the immense beauty of the Himalayas and offer solitude and pristine trails in such a scale that the luxuries today can never be able to replicate.

The scaling of the Tharpu Chuli Peak, being the destination of the trek, offers adventure and ecstasy at the same time. The mountains in the Annapurna region can be thoroughly enjoyed atop the peak. Descending through villages like Ghandruk, we can experience the culture and practices in these areas. The people of this region are a friendly bunch and will give you the heartiest of receptions. The trek will give us a chance to see the blooming rhododendrons, bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls all along the way. We will also get sights for a variety of wildlife and vegetation.

Trip Itinerary

Welcome to Kathmandu. Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel.

We will take a morning flight to Pokhara and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Nepalese Himalayas. This flight is short and we will land in the wonderful city of Pokhara. Flights in Nepal are more likely to be delayed or canceled due to weather conditions. We will have options in such cases but you will have to bear the charges in such cases. After reaching Pokhara, we will drive on a scenic road trip to Nayapul and start our trek to Tikhedunga, the picturesque landscape with small cute wooden houses adds a wonderful charm to this trek. Overnight stay at Tikhedunga lodge.

We will continue walking on steep terrain. We first cross Ulleri and head towards Banthati. We will pass through forested areas of rhododendron with small streams and waterfalls along the way. We reach the side of Ghorepani through the road of Burundi river. After reaching Ghorepani we can see small tea houses where we spend the night. Overnight stay at Ghorepani lodge.

Early in the morning, before sunrise, we head to Poon Hill for some spectacular views of the mountains. As the sun rises over the snow-capped mountains, we can see the color change almost as if the mountains are welcoming us into their humble homes. We will be able to see the beauty of Annapurna mountains including Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Nilgiri (7061 m), Gangapurna (7454 m), Machhapuchhre (6997 m). Then we will proceed towards Tadapani. Stay overnight at Tadapani lodge.

Today, we will climb an easy trail. Walking uphill through Gurung and Magar villages, we can revel in their culture and traditions. Crossing the Kimrong River and passing through the Chomrong Pass, we reach Chomrong. Here, we can enjoy the stunning mountains in the background, well in sight and blessing these villages to flourish. Stay overnight at the lodge in Chomrong.

Surrounded by oak, bamboo and rhododendron forests today we will make our way to Dovan. After Sinuwa village, as the forest becomes denser, we will reach the barren area of the Annapurna glacier, enjoying the panoramic view of the mountains. Walking along the Modi River, we stop for the day after reaching Doban. Overnight stay at Doban lodge.

The trail will start on an easy path with a panoramic view of Machhapuchhre (6997 m) and its neighboring peaks. A rocky road, it's rough as we walk together. We will reach the Machhapuchhre base camp through the Hinku Cave through continuous climbing. The Himalayan range in the background looks majestic and pristine. Overnight stay at Machhapuchhre base camp lodge.

We could see the sun's rays bouncing off the mountains in beautiful shades of orange and red. We will often walk through snow and reach base camp at 4,130 meters with a spectacular 360-degree view of the mountains. The view includes mountains like Annapurna Himal, Nithchuli (6441 m), Machhapuchhre (6997 m). We will spend some time here, take some photos and then return to MBC. Overnight stay at Machhapuchhre base camp lodge.

The base camp is a flat rocky camp area, which can be reached by trail from the Annapurna base camp. We will walk on the Moraine of the Annapurna Glacier. The geography here is amazing and can only be felt at high altitudes. We may also be able to meet other hikers on trips to these areas. Stay overnight in tented camp at Tharpu Chuli base camp.

We will climb to high camp today. A steep climb this path is rocky and it is advised that you exercise extreme caution when walking this path. We will be blessed with panoramic views of Annapurna 1 (8,091 m), Fishtail (m), Annapurna South (7,229 m). We will reach the high camp and pitch the tent. We can spend the rest of the day practicing for the next day's trek and learning to use climbing equipment. Overnight at Tented Camp at High Camp.

We will start our final climb at midnight. We will cross small streams and walk on glaciers as we make our way to the summit, which will take about 9-10 hours. We will climb using pre-determined ropes. Reaching the top is a joy as the many days of hard work finally pays off and the breathtaking views of the mountains in the Annapurna region are available. After we enjoy the glorious moment and take some unforgettable photos, we will return to the base camp. Overnight in Tented Camp at Base Camp.

Today we will go to Deurali by the same road we came from. Following similar scenes of dense forest and lush landscape, we will set our way to Deurali. We will also remember the memories we made when we reached the summit. When we reach Deurali, we will rest our very tired legs. Spent the night at a lodge in Deurali.

We make our way down through a trail that gradually descends and descends. The trail abounds with an amazing variety of flora and fauna and beautiful forests of blooming rhododendrons. Passing through small villages we reach the destination and enjoy the natural and cultural beauty in the lap of the Himalayas. Overnight stay at Sinuwa lodge.

Via Chomrong we reach Ghandruk. A great example of unique Nepali culture, Ghandruk village is famous all over the world and is known for its Gurung and Thakali inhabitants. With Annapurna, a snowy backdrop, Ghandruk village is the perfect place to sit back and observe the culture of these proud ethnic communities. Overnight stay at Ghandruk lodge.

With the familiar landscape of greenery and nature's grace, we take the last part of our walk to Nayapul. After reaching there, we will take a ride to Pokhara and go to the hotel. We will head out today to see the nightlife and check out the eateries at Lakeside. We can also enjoy the pubs and bars that add charm to the city.

He will arrive in Kathmandu today by a short flight. You can spend it as per your preference. You can visit the local markets and try some local cuisine and do some souvenir shopping. You can relax at your hotel as you will be tired from the journey. I spent the night in a four-star hotel in Kathmandu.
