Tilicho Lake has 4,919 meters altitude above the sea level. It Is a lovely beauty ice lake that situates on the side of the Annapurna-Marsyandi valley. The interesting Mesokanto trekking trail follows the path of the Annapurna region route to Tilicho Pass at (5230m). Mesokanto la Pass connecting panoramic view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Tilicho, Annapurna l, Mt. Gangapurna, Mt. Fishtail, Glacier Dome and hundreds of mountains and peaks, also Mesokanto La pass. It is associated with Tilicho pass, which is an exciting and exquisite route and technical pass and slender trails, mostly the down section from the Mesokanto La pass.

The Annapurna Region is one of the pleasant adventures with the opportunities of exploring green valleys and hills, culturally rich villages, flowery slopes, forests of rhododendron, pastures lands and river gorges wild Animals, Himalayan Thar, monals, Danphe, many species bird, and butterfly, including very impressive sunrise and sunset views in Himalayan Range. The trail is full of diverse flora and fauna. The flowering vegetation along the way makes anyone feel it is the natural garden. The exploration of unique culture of Gurung and Magar ethnicity who are the indigenous tribes of Nepal’s hillside can be rewarding for the visitors as they have unique culture and lifestyle.


Outline Itinerary (Tilicho Mesokanto Pass Trek)
Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel by our representative.
Day 02 : Drive from Kathmandu to Khudi via Besishar. 7/8 hrs, overnight at Lodge.
Day 03 : Trek to Chyamje (1400 m), overnight at tented camp.
Day 04 : Trek to Dharapani (1860m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.
Day 05 : Trek to Chame (2670m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.
Day 06 : Trek to Pisang (3200m) 4/5 hrs, overnight at tented camp.
Day 07 : Trek to Manang (3540m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.
Day 08 : Manang rest day for acclimatization day hiking.
Day 09 : Trek to Khangsar (3734m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.
Day 10 : Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4140m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.
Day 11 : Tilicho Pass Trek (5,315m), to Nam Phu Kharka, 7 hrs. Tented camp.

Day 13 : Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara, overnight at hotel.
Day 14 : Drive back to Kathmandu 6 – 7 hrs, overnight at hotel.
Day 15 : Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination.

Day 1
Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel by our representative.

Day 2
Day 02 : Drive from Kathmandu to Khudi via Besishar. 7/8 hrs, overnight at Lodge.

After we have our breakfast, today we will drive to Khudi taking 6 to 7 hours. On your arrival at Dumre, you will feel the beginning of your trek. You will be driving to the Marsyangdi river valley then move to Besisahar and ultimately proceed to Khudi. Overnight at Khudi.

Day 3
Day 03 : Trek to Chyamje (1400 m), overnight at tented camp.

We move go up steeply to continue walking on a trail wonderfully engraved out to the wall of the rock. Then, we reach Syange going across Ghermu Phant and Khani Gaun. We then move on walking to Chyamje next to the west shore of the Marsyangdi River passing through the village of Jagat. Here, you will cross the eastern bank of the river to enter the Manang District at the settlement of Tal.

Day 4
Day 04 :  Trek to Dharapani (1860m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.

You will keep on noticing changes in the landscapes, people, culture and architecture as we move ahead from Chyamje. Here, we will see people of Tibetan origin their culture; houses made of rock, less tropical plants and more. The track from Tal comes across the Marsyangdi River after Karte settlement and proceeds towards the Dharapani village. Overnight at Dharapani.

Day 5
Day 05 : Trek to Chame (2670m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.

We depart from Dharapani, you keep on ascending the river valley passing the Gurung Village, Thonje and then reach Bagarchhap. Walking further, along the left shore, we ascend up to Manang valley passing through small settlements with terrific views of Mt. Manaslu (8163m.) and the mountains over Larkya La pass. Overnight at Chame.

Day 6
Day 06 :  Trek to Pisang (3200m) 4/5 hrs, overnight at tented camp.

We will be walking along the trail which takes us up to Chame. We will come across the forests of Juniper, Pine, above fairly plane ground all the way through Bhratang village. We will witness a superb view of Annapurna II to south. Overnight at Pisang.

Day 7
Day 07 : Trek to Manang (3540m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.

Today, we continue our trek to Manang valley. We take a stable way up to reach to the top and witness the view of the Manang valley. This exciting spot offers superb views of the valleys, the great peaks of Gangapurna, Tilicho Annapurna II, III, Chulu east and Pisang peak. The walk takes us further to Humde and then we have a pleasant walk up to the village of Braga and walking further we reach Manang.

Day 8
Day 08 : Manang rest day for acclimatization day hiking.

Today we have an acclimatization day and to explore Manang. We might go to Chonkor View point (3800m.) and go around the village of about flat-roofed houses which is the arresting set surrounded by some magnificent scenery -Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna to the South, Tilicho to the West – Chulu West and Chulu East to the North.

Day 9
Day 09 : Trek to Khangsar (3734m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.

At morning from Manang one heads out through the western gates of Tenki Manang and then one follows the path down to the river. After crossing the Khangsar Khola on the bridge below Khangsar and ascend the slope to the village, a village still in the old Tibetan style.

Day 10
Day 10 : Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4140m), 5/6 hrs, overnight at tented camp.

Today is tough day as we walk through the landslide and narrow trail to reach Tilicho lake. After Khangsar the trail heads through recently constructed path up towards a high ridge passing Buddhist Gompa. At one point is an intersection. One path maintains the altitude, traversing the slopes towards a place where the valley is narrow; the other continues to ascend towards the ridgeline. The former is the old path, and is much more difficult as it goes on really steep screed; the latter is the new path goes a completely another way. Slowly we reach at Tilicho Base Camp.

Day 11
Day 11 : Tilicho Pass Trek (5,315m), to Nam Phu Kharka, 7 hrs. Tented camp.

Heading up the valley we traverse through older moraine and glacial riverbanks we reach on Tilicho lake (4,949m/16,183 ft). We ascend continuously uphill to Tilicho pass which is also recognized as a Meso Kantola pass. It is tough and comparatively difficult comparing Thorong la but the Himalayan Scenery is great. So we recommend this trek only for experienced trekkers. This trek is best if you could come to explore it on monsoon because of wild colorful flowers. Crossing pass, we walk downhill to get Nam Phu kharka to spend our nights at Tent.

Day 12
Day 12 : Trek to Kharka or Jomsom (2713m), 6/7 hrs, overnight at tented camp.

Walk through the dry and desert landscapes to reach kaligandaki river bank than you walk over the sandy and windy trail to Jomsom where we stay overnight in a hotel. Jomsom is a tiny town and the district headwaters of Mustang district. You might also hike to Jomsom eco-museum in the afternoon. From Museum, you will have also the best panoramic view of Mount Nilgiri North (7061m.), Nilgiri Central (6940m.), and Nilgiri South (6839m.), Annapurna I (8091m.), Dhaulagiri I (8167m.) and Tukuche peak (6920m.).

Day 13
Day 13 : Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara, overnight at hotel.

The trail descends all the way downhill through forests, tiny thakali villages and beautiful Rupse waterfall. The first part of the trek passes through the windy area covered with pine forests, rhododendron forests and birches are seen. The surrounding area of Ghasa is a famous destination for bird watching and wild Marijuana. The Kali Gandaki valley is getting narrow however we drive continue passing Tatopani, Galeswor, Beni we reach at Baglung highway to drive to Pokhara. The whole journey takes roughly about 9 hours.

Day 15
Day 14 : Drive back to Kathmandu 6 - 7 hrs, overnight at hotel.

Morning we’ll drive back through the scenic countryside and during the route will stop for breakfast & lunch. It takes 6 – 7 hours back to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu guide will transfer to the hotel and rest of the day relax or explore the surrounding areas and overnight at hotel.

Day 16
Day 15 : Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination.
