Related to this trip FAQs
Although it is possible to climb Yala Peak all year round except during the monsoon months, the best times to climb Yala Peak are spring and autumn. The spring season runs from March to early June and is also the busiest climbing season of the year. The autumn season runs from September to November when temperatures are moderate and the weather is clear. Climbers have attempted to climb Yala Peak in the winter in the past, but the extreme cold during the winter months can be quite dangerous for some. Summer weather invites rain and does not offer good views during the climb. Therefore, we do not recommend it.
Yala Peak climb are considered difficult to climb due to long duration trekking/climbing in remote and isolated areas going above 5500 meters and sleeping at altitude of 4500 meters for several days. Mountaineers require excellent physical condition. On the day of the summit, you will leave the base camp at 2 am and return to the base camp only in the afternoon. This grade includes the use of climbing equipment (harness, ice axe, crampons, mountaineering boots, Screwgate Carabiners, Descender/Figure of Eight). Previous experience is essential and we also provide a climbing course at base camp before the actual climb where your climbing guide will teach you the proper way to use the equipment.
It’s mandatory and highly recommended to get travel insurance before embarking on any adventurous trips. We advise all our clients to get travel insurance that covers up emergency helicopter evacuation that may be needed in case of the occurrence of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) or any other reasons in high altitudes where there are no other means of transportation available. It is advisable to review carefully the insurance and its coverages before making the final decision. More information: Travel Insurance
