Camping Trekking in Nepal

Camping trekking in Nepal is a classic style trek that is conducted especially in remote areas where all camping equipment including food, staff and tents are supplied. All meals and accommodation are in tents. Camping trekking is away from the many trails that come along which offers a wilderness experience in both natural and cultural aspects. You will get a great view of the remote mountains where people live off agriculture and are untouched by modern civilization, no politics, just a peaceful place with greenery. This trek gives you a real Nepal experience and also helps to develop poor areas economically. In some places, there are no tea houses and lodges so camping is the only option.

In many remote areas you cannot rely on finding accommodation so you will have to arrange a full camping trek. You can organize this independently, hiring a few porters and a cook through a trekking agency and providing your tent and food, or you can let the trekking agency do it but provide all your tent and food, or you can let the trekking agency arrange everything from the porters to the dining tents.

Trekking in Nepal has some completely deserted areas and people live even in the most remote trekking areas, so a completely self-sufficient trekking style of carrying all your equipment, stove, food, water and tent is usually unnecessary.

Even if you plan to travel light in a small group of two or three, you still need a minimum number of crew. You will need a porter to carry some of your gear, and that porter will also need to carry his own gear and tent, so you will need another porter to help carry that, as well as his gear and possibly a stove for them. Two hikers can go on a camping trek with two porters and a guide-cook-porter, but it is difficult to travel lighter than that.

Our staff will carry a kerosene stove, kitchen gear, and a certain amount of dried food, and will fill up on rice and fresh vegetables in local villages. Therefore, you do not have to camp near the villages, and can comfortably trek through remote areas and high altitudes, enjoying the solitude of remote valleys and your own private Himalayan views.
