Please look out for a placard of your name at the exit of arrival hall. Your trip leader will await you just outside the arrival hall and will escort you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Welcome drinks will be served and after you’ve refreshed, your trek leader will brief you about your trip.

Sundarijal is located to the northern edge of Kathmandu. We will take about an hour ride from Central Kathmandu to reach Sundarijal. From Sundarijal, we will follow the stone steps upward to reach Mulkharka which is the scenic Tamang village. We will walk along the dam that supplies water to Kathmandu and enter Shivpuri National Park. We will follow the descending trail to Chisapani (cold water) (2300m).

Today we will leave Chisapani and walk along the forest area to Kutumsang. It is going to be a long trek of seven hours. We will follow the descending trail through meadows and fields by enjoying the spectacular views of Langtang Mountains. We will move through Pati Bhanjyang to Gul Bhanjyang and then proceed to another pass. Lowering down from the pass, we will reach Kutumsang where we will stay overnight.

Today we will leave Kutumsang and follow the ascending trail on a steep path lined with fir and rhododendron forest. We cannot find any permanent settlements in this trail. Walking through the forest, we will reach Yurin Danda that allows panoramic views of several surrounding mountains. Continuing further, we will arrive at Thadepati where we will stay overnight.

Phedi is at a distance of 6 hours normal walk from Thadepati. The 6-hour trek will start with the walk into the forest of Rhododendron and Fir trees. These vegetations will enchant us and will make, walk a bit easier. We will make regular entry and exit into tiny and small forests by walking ups and downs. On our way, we will also come across some beautiful flower meadows and chanting steams. Then we will reach Ghopte, a place with few lodges and houses. After lunch at Ghopte, we will move uphill towards the forest where we will walk above several gorge looking hill edges. And after the hurdle of 6 hours, we will arrive at Phedi.

Today is the most important day of the entire Gosainkunda Helambu trek. Because on this day we will climb up to Gosainkunda Lake via Lauribina La Pass and we know this lake is a central attraction. So, this eventful stretch will start with the uphill climb from Phedi mainly through rough terrains. It is the most demanding period of Gosainkunda Helambu trek so we have to showcase physical stamina here. After making against all odds, we will reach Surakunda Hilltop, i.e. Lauribina La Pass(4620m). This hilltop provides superb displays of peaks like Rolwaling Peak, Jugal Himal, Langshisha, Gang Chhenpo and several others. The trail after the Lauribina La Pass is downsloping towards the Gosaikunda Lake.

Before going to Gosaikunda Lake, we will walk through the sides of other lakes of this region. Saraswati Kunda, Bhairab Kunda, Nag Kunda are the popular lakes of this region other than legendary Gosainkunda Lake. Like this way, we will finally arrive at the beautiful and sacred vicinity of Gosaikunda Lake(4300m). Gosaikunda Lake is a pristine lake locked between rocky hills. The view of this lake is so soothing that all our efforts seem worthy here. This lake also holds very high religious importance among Hindus. It is a legend that this lake with several other lakes is created by Lord Shiva. After all of the walks and views, we will settle for an overnight stay at a lodge.

Our trek to Thulo Syabru. From Gosaikunda, this trek takes a steep descent through Laurivinayak to Thulo Syabru through magnificent mountain views and forests. During the trek, you will walk through some beautiful Chandan Bari and Shin Gompa villages. Homes, people and lifestyles are different. In addition, one can also see the fascinating view of the Langtang Himalayan range. While walking through the pine and juniper forest, you will see some birds and animals. En-route you will can see red pandas if you are lucky.

The first part of the trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail is a gradual ascent up to Bamboo passing through landslide zones. Afterwards, we trek down gently to Rimche (2400m.) through Bamboo (1960m.) which lies at the banka of Langtang Khola. En-route we can see red pandas, playful monkeys and bears if you are lucky.

After breakfast, we continue climbing amidst occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees. At Ghore Tabela (3000m), the trail emerges from the forest. While walking hereabouts, we get to observe playful white monkeys enjoying themselves and hear the sweet chirping of merry local birds. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery we can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The houses of Langtang and its neighbouring villages are of the flat-roofed Tibetan style, surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields.

The trail skirts gradually through rich yak pastures and interesting customary villages of Muna to Singdun. We cross a wooden cantilever bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine. Finally, on ascending the mountain passes, we arrive at Kyagjing Gompa. There is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory hereabouts. We can sample some of the fresh cheese down here.

We get to explore interesting places like the monastery, cheese factory etc. We will climb Tserko Ri located at (5,000m) from where great views of snow-capped mountains are spread out in wonderful display right next to you. We can walk up the moraine to see the spectacular mountain ridges and undulating glaciers.

From Kyanjin, we take revert back to Lama Hotel. As we retrace our steps, we follow the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. We haul up briefly for lunch and thereafter continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel to bunk out for the night.

Today is the last day of the trek. You will walk through the terraced field and green hills to reach Syabrubensi. En route, enjoy the rewarding views of the mighty mountains, Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. Walking through the uphill forest of oak and hemlock, you will then gradually decline towards the rhododendron forest and pastures to reach the ridge at Phoprang Danda. Gently climbing the uphill, you will pass through a few Buddhist monasteries and reach Syabrubensi village.

It’s a seven hours easy-going cruise through a scenic highway and typical countryside on our way back to Kathmandu. We check into our hotel and the rest of the day is free to chill out and reflect on a wonderful trip.
