We recommend that you schedule your arrival in Kathmandu in the morning or afternoon. This will give you enough time to relax and recover from jet lag before starting your adventure. Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel where you will be served welcome drinks. After you have freshened up, your trek guide will brief you about your trip in the lobby of your hotel in the evening.

After breakfast early morning, you will take a tourist bus to Pokhara. If you are lucky and get the right side of the bus, you can take pleasure in amazing views of green mountains and villages. Upon reaching the enchanting city of Pokhara which offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, peaks of Annapurna and others, you'll check in to the hotel. After breakfast today, you leave Pokhara to drive to Nayapul, which takes around an hour. From Nayapul, you will start trek, passing through lovely villages such as Birethanti. These villages are inhabited by Gurungs and Magars, who are local to this area. It takes around 5-6 hours of hiking to reach your first overnight stop at Ulleri. Where you will pass through sub-tropical valley forests, sometimes on the carved trail on the side of the cliff. After lunch, you'll cross the Bhurungdi Khola via a bridge to the village of Tikhedhunga. The Ulleri Hill with thousands of steps and boulders that continually go upward will really prove a test of your stamina. Then you will reach Ulleri by afternoon. Stay overnight at Ulleri.

Today after breakfast, you will make your way ascending towards Ghorepani. The name Ghorepani in Nepali means ‘horse-water’ due to it being an important campsite for traders before it became a trekker’s stop. Ghorepani is an interesting place with small shops and stalls for selling local products and crafts. The town has two parts: one in a saddle and the other a few hundred feet lower. You will stop at the higher part of the Ghorepani village that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains including Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains. Since Ghorepani lies quite higher than your previous stop, you'll begin to feel the chilly weather especially in the evenings. Overnight at Ghorepani.

Today is a big day for you, so you will make an early morning climb along the steep trail to Poon Hill viewpoint (3,210m/10,529ft.) to witness the most amazing sunrise views over the Himalayas. It is also a great vantage point to enjoy the amazing views of Mustang, Pokhara and more than 20 of the highest mountains, including the close-up views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Afterbreakfast, you leave Tadapani making a steep descent through the dense forests of old rhododendron trees. After hiking for some more time, you will enter the village of Ghandruk, which is a slope settlement comprising stone houses, mostly inhabited by the Gurung community. It is part of the Annapurna Conservation Area and sits at an altitude of about 1,070 meters (3,510 feet) above sea level. This makes Nayapul one of the lower-altitude areas in the Annapurna region. In this trek, you will first reach Nayapul from Pokhara via drive and begin your trekking towards Ulleri.
A sleeping bag isn’t strictly necessary for the Annapurna Poonhill Trek, especially in warmer seasons. Lodges usually provide blankets, which are often enough. However, if you’re trekking in colder months or prefer your own bedding, it’s recommended to bring a sleeping bag for extra warmth and security. So, while optional, it can be quite beneficial.
