12-Days Rumtse Tso Moriri Trek Itinerary
Arrive in Leh and check into the hotel. It is best to rest and stay hydrated for the rest of the day to help your body adjust to the high altitude. You will be given complete rest throughout the day to acclimatize yourself to the new environment at an altitude of 11,135 feet. In the evening, hike to Shanti Stupa. This hike offers beautiful views of the Stok Kangri mountain range and the Indus Valley, it also helps your body adjust to the altitude. Spend the night in Leh.

Follow the trail to Kyamar (4538m) which was once known as the salt road. Through this valley, the salt from Tso Kar was transported to Leh and the Indus valley the sceneries and landscapes are different from the rest of Ladakh.

After breakfast, today move upwards gradually towards the Kyamar La 5071m and enjoy the fantastic view of the Changthang region from the pass climb down towards Tiri Doksa, a temporary shelter for the shepherds keep to the trail and climb to the Mandalchan La 5206m and then climb down to Tisaling 4940m.

During the trek: Comfortable stays in citie and on the trail Your comfort is our priority, whether it’s in a busy city or in the quiet hills: In Leh: You will stay in 3-star hotel, that offer comfort and amenities. Room Arrangement: are on a twin-sharing basis, which Hotel Omasila in Leh with breakfast.
Your accommodation during the trek will be fully tent camping. A tent with foam mattress will be provided for every 2 travelers. There will also be a kitchen tent, dining tent, toilet tent, table, chairs. We will have mules to load all this equipment.
Meals at Rumtse Tso Moriri during the Trek
All meals are included throughout the trek. We will provide three meals a day during the trek. Our kitchen team will serve freshly prepared meals during the trek. We consider hearty and delicious food to be a key ingredient for the overall success of our trek.
Since this is a full camping trek, meals are prepared by the trekking cook and usually include warm, nutritious options such as soup, rice, pasta and vegetable curries. Finally, there will be also farewell dinner in Leh.

Typical day during the Rumtse Tso Moriri Trek
The daily wake-up time while on the trek will be between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. During the camping period, you will be provided with a small basin of hot water for your morning bath and a cup of tea in your tent. After a hearty breakfast, you will set out on the day’s hike. Before breakfast, you will need to pack your duffel bag as it will be loaded by the mules, after you have breakfast. After a few hour hike, you will stop for lunch. The afternoon hike is usually shorter and you will usually reach camp site, your destination in time for afternoon tea. The rest of the time can be spent exploring, doing laundry or relaxing with a good book.
Prerequisites for Rumtse Tso Moriri Trek
No previous experience of trekking is required but you should be moderately fit and must enjoy walking and adaptable to high altitude conditions. Having a previous experience is definitely beneficial but it is not a must to participate for this trip. All travellers need to be in good physical health in order to participate fully on this trip. We strongly advise you to prepare yourself for the trip at least 3 months prior to your trip date by doing regular exercises, going on hiking, running or gym.
