The northern part of the Annapurna Circuit and the Manaslu Circuit are connected by this section of the GHT, offering a great trek that can challenge any Himalayan hiker! The rocky and undeveloped trek encircles the world’s eighth highest mountain, Manaslu (8163m), passing through historic Buddhist settlements near the Tibetan border. The trek crosses the high and windswept Larkya La (5167m) to reach Dharapani, and from there the trek meets the famous Annapurna Circuit route.
From there you reach and cross Thorong La (5416m) via Manang, you continue north on this magnificent trek with incredible views of the Annapurna range. This pass offers stunning views of the Mustang region and the Tibetan plateau. As you descend before reaching Kagbeni you pass the important pilgrimage village of Muktinath, a historic settlement that is a major site within the Kali Gandaki Valley.
Manaslu Circuit:
We will reach the summit of Larkya La Pass, which rises to a staggering 5,106 meters (16,751 feet), along with the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Consequently, the Manaslu Circuit trip is also known as the Larkya pass trek. Mountains like Mt. Manaslu (8,163m, 26,781ft), Mt. Annapurna (8,091m, 26,545ft), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m, 26,795ft), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441m, 21,132ft), and Ganesh Himal (7,422m, 24,350ft) can all be seen from the summit of Larkya La Pass.
Annapurna Circuit:
The western Himalayas’ breathtaking magnificence is on display at the Annapurna Circuit Trek. 24 Days Manaslu & Annapurna Trek Itinerary
We recommend that you schedule your arrival in Kathmandu in the morning or afternoon. This will give you enough time to relax and recover from jet lag before starting your adventure. Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel where you will be served welcome drinks. After you have freshened up, your trek guide will brief you about your trip in the lobby of your hotel in the evening.
Get familiar with your surroundings by taking a walk down the street. Visit to Thamel, the main tourist hub. Overnight at Kathmandu's in a Hotel.

Enjoy the heartful breakfast staying Hotel Vajra in Kathmandu, Swyambhunath. We will meet today to receive your passports for the Special Permit Preparation. You can explore the city, in the meantime, we will make your permits ready for the trek. In the evening, we will return your passports and meet up with the trekking guide with whom you will start the trek the following day.

Today, your adventure begins with breakfast at the Kathmandu hotel. As you depart from Kathmandu, the panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges, such as Ganesh Himal and Manaslu, will unfold in the distance. Your journey will take you past the Trisuli River until you reach Dhanding Besi.
Continuing northeast, you'll reach Aarughat Bazaar on the opposite bank of the Budi Gandaki River. The journey continues to Machhakhola through Sotikhola, offering a scenic view of the Siringi Himal range. Your overnight stay will be in Machhakhola.

From today you will officially start the trek from Machhakhola crossing a suspension bridge and following narrow trails to Khorlabesi. From there, you will continue walking to Tatopani. You can take a short break and enjoy the natural hot spring. Afterward, you will continue on the trails and cross another suspension bridge over the Budi Gandaki River before arriving at Dovan for lunch.
After lunch, the trail gradually goes uphill to Yaru Phat, where you will cross a cantilever bridge. After approximately 2 hours of walking from there, you will arrive in Jagat, the gateway to the Manaslu restricted area.

After breakfast; you will start the trek from Jagat, in a short time crossing a suspension bridge and greeted by the sight of a captivating waterfall along your route. Your path unfolds towards Sirdibas, leading you uphill to Philim before a gentle descent to Chisapani for lunch. Following the pine forest and narrow valley, you will reach Deng, where you will stay overnight.

Today, your journey begins from Deng as you hike on the well-trodden trekking route towards Namrung. You will cross the suspension bridge over the Budi Gandaki River and then hike uphill, which leads to the charming Rana village. From there, you'll follow the trail, passing through Bihi Phedi on our way to the Gap village, where a lunch break awaits.
After lunch, our adventure continues through a dense forest, ascending towards Namrung, our destination for the overnight stay.

Today; you will have a delightful breakfast at Namrung and start the hike towards Shyala. En route, greeted by the breathtaking vistas of towering peaks such as Boudha Himal (6672 m), Himal Chuli (7893 m), Rani Peak (6693 m), Nadi Chuli (7871 m), and Simnang Himal (6251 m) and Mt. Manaslu (8163 m).
You will walk through the charming villages of Lihi village and Shyogoan and stop for lunch at Shyogoan. You may visit the Rebung Gumpa, adding a touch of cultural richness to your journey. The trail gracefully undulates, offering a perfect balance of ups and downs, eventually leading you to Shyala, where you will stay overnight.

From Shyala, you will head on to a captivating uphill trek towards the enchanting Pungen Glacier, which takes about 3-4 hours. Afterward, you'll make your way to the picturesque valley of Samagaon.

Today is your first rest day in Samagaon. You have the option to go for a hike to Birendra Tal, a glacial lake surrounded by snowcapped mountains, which takes 2-3 hours. For a more challenging day hike, you can trek to Manaslu base camp, which takes 7-8 hours. After your exploration, return to the hotel in Samagaon.

After breakfast, your journey starts from the charming village of Samagaon. At this juncture, two paths await you, each offering a unique adventure, one leading to the Manaslu Base Camp and the other heading to the Samdo Village. You will follow the Larke La Trail, reaching Khermo Kharka and passing several mani walls.
You will continue on the trail through birch and juniper forests, cross a wooden bridge over the Kali Gandaki River, and then hike uphill to Samdo. Samdo is the last settlement before the Larke La pass. You will spend the night in Samdo.

After breakfast in Samdo village, you will head to Larke base. The pathway leading to Larke Pass breaks at the crossroads, where the other path leads to Rui La Pass towards the Tibet Border.
The route ascends toward the Dharmashala passing through the rugged terrains and glacial moraines. Depending upon the pace of walking of the trekker, it would take 4 to 5 hours to reach Dharamshala, where you will stay overnight.

Today; you will begin early from Dharmasala on your journey to the Larke La Pass, the highest point you will reach during the Manaslu Circuit Trek. The trail ascends gradually, where the landscape becomes more barren and rugged.
Upon reaching the Larke Pass at 5106m, you will be rewarded with incredible views of Larke Peak (6249m), Himlung Himal (7126m), Cheo Himal, Kanguru Himal, and Annapurna II and many more mountains. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, you will descend from the pass to Bhimtang, where you will spend the night.

The trekking from Bhimtang to Dharapani is a part of the famous Annapurna Circuit trek. Today's your journey will take you from diverse landscapes to lush forests. After breakfast, you will descend to the valley of Sangure Kharka, crossing a wooden bridge over the Dudh Khola (Milky River).
You will continue descending to Yak Kharka and Karche (Surki), where you will stop for lunch. After lunch, you will trek onward to Goa and Tilche before reaching Dharapani, crossing the suspension bridge over the Marshyangdi River. Dharapani village marks the end of the Manaslu Circuit and the beginning of the Annapurna Circuit. You will spend the night in Dharapani.

After having breakfast in Dharapani, you will start our hike following the roadway towards Bagarchhap, a picturesque village with traditional Tibetan-style houses and Buddhist monasteries, in about an hour. As you continue, you will pass by Danaque, where you will leave the road to follow the trekking trail. You will walk uphill, arriving at Timang (2750m) village with views of Lamjung Himal (6983m).
You'll likely encounter lush forests and waterfalls along the trail. Continuing on the trail, you will reach Thanchok, where you will stop for lunch. Afterward, you will walk through the pine forest, arriving at Koto where our permits are checked by the officials. Eventually, you will reach Chame, where you will stay overnight.

After breakfast; you will begin your trek towards Upper Pisang. You followed by the road to Bhratang, a large apple farm in the Manang district. You can stop for a nice hot coffee and fresh apple juice, then continue your walk to Dhukur Pokhari (3060m). You will stop for lunch with an incredible view of Heaven Gate.
After lunch, you will start your hike by crossing the suspension bridge over the Marshyangdi River, then gradually ascending through dense forests of pine and rhododendrons, reaching Upper Pisang. En route, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Annapurna II and Pisang Peak.

After breakfast, today; you begin your trek towards Manang. You walk through the straight pathway, cross the suspension bridge, and then upward to Ghyaru at 3670 m. You get to relish the views of Annapurna II (7937 m), Annapurna IV (7525 m), Annapurna III (7555 m), Gangapurna (7454 m), Tare Kang (Glacier Dome - 7069 m), Tilicho Peak (7134 m), Pisang Peak (6091 m), before reaching Ngawal.
You will have your lunch at Ngwal and head towards Manang, passing through the village of Braga. Along the way, you will see ancient monasteries, traditional stone houses, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak.

On this day, you stay in Manang and explore the surrounding area to help our body to adjust to the high altitude. After a mountain breakfast, you will do a short day hike. You have the following options for the day hike. Like; Bodzo Gompa (Lama Monastery): 3-4 hours and Chongkor Viewpoint: 3-4 hours.

Today, you will head from Manang to another settlement, passing through its narrow streets adorned with prayer flags and traditional Tibetan architecture. The trail initially leads through the alpine meadows and fields, and the road becomes steep to Gunsang (3950 m).
En route, will be treated to stunning views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks, including Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and other peaks of the Annapurna range. After several hours of trekking, the trail reaches Yak Kharka, where you will stay overnight.

After breakfast, you; head towards the Thorong phedi. After about 30 minutes of walking, you cross a suspension bridge and arrive at Ledar. Following the gradual paths and crossing another suspension bridge, you reach a small tea shop, where you take a break and continuing your walk, you will reach a landslide-prone area. Walk carefully along the path, and you will eventually arrive at the Thorong phedi.

Today, you will wake up around 3 am, then start hiking up the pass for about 4 hours or more depending on your walking pace to reach the Thorong-La peak. You will then spend a short time at the peak, take pictures, and head towards Muktinath. After walking downhill for about 3 hours, you will reach Chambar Bhum. You will stop there for some time and have a hot tea, then walk down and cross the suspension bridge to reach Muktinath Temple.
You will then visit both Hindu and Buddhist temple at Muktinath Temple. The monastery. After visiting the temple and the monastery, continue hiking to Muktinath village. Overnight in Muktinath.

It takes about 8 to 10 hours to go overland, via picturesque scenery and traditional communities like Beni, Marpha, Tatopani, and Jomsom. Certain parts of the route, particularly before Beni, can be rough and bumpy. So, Upon request, there is also a flying option from Jomsom to Pokhara. It Cost USD 160 extra.

Please take care to note: Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails traveling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Accommodation in Kathmandu and during the trek
During your journey, we will manage your accommodation from Kathmandu to Manaslu and Annapurna. You will stay in the good reputable Hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu, which has best facilities, services. After you leave Kathmandu and start climbing altitude, you will find simple hotels, lodges, and teahouses as your means of accommodation. It should be noted that at higher elevations the quality of accommodation may not be as good, with more basic rooms with the bared necessities..
Food during trekking in Manaslu and Annapurna
Throughout the Manaslu and Annapurna Trek, tea houses serve food. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available. However, it’s advised to avoid non-vegetarian food while trekking, as it may strain your metabolism and cause digestive issues at higher elevations. Still, we provide trekkers with food to choose from, anything from the menu.
Additionally, frozen food is often unhygienic due to long transport times. To stay healthy during hikes, stick to locally sourced vegetarian food. Generally, trekkers get to eat three meals every day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and trekkers have it before starting their trek. Some of the breakfast menus are Breakfast Sets, Pancakes, Tibetan Bread, Eggs, etc.
The menus for lunch and dinner are somewhat similar, with Nepali Dal and Bhat being the main serving. Trekkers can also eat Western meals like Pizzas, Burgers, Dumplings, etc.
How difficult is the Manaslu and Annapurna Trek?
The Manaslu and Annapurna circuit trek is challenging due to its longer duration of trekking days and a maximum elevation of 5,160m/16,930ft at Larkya La Pass and 5416m/17769ft at Thorong La Pass. The daily average walking hour is 6-7 hours. Unlike other famous trekking regions of Nepal, Manaslu and Annapurna is still considered off the beaten path, so a basic sense of adventure is required on this trek.
Previous trekking experience is not required, but you must be fit and comfortable walking 6-7 hours daily carrying your day pack. There are some factors of trek that make Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna Circuit Trek hard.
What is the best time to trek the Manaslu and Annapurna?
The best time to trekking the Manaslu circuit and Annapurna circuit is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months have stable weather, clear skies, and moderate temperatures, making it ideal for trekking. However, with proper preparation and equipment, the trek can be done.
Do I need previous experience to do this trek?
The Manaslu and Annapurna trek is a challenging trek where you will be walking for 6-7 hours a day most of the time. You will need some previous experience of trekking or hiking but it is always a good idea if you have done any kind of trekking activity! We have met people from all walks of life, shapes and sizes who have completed the trek.
The only difficult part is when altitude sickness strikes and the effect it can have on your body. It is best to prepare yourself physically by increasing your stamina and oxygen intake before heading to Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna circuit trekking of Nepal.
How much does the Manaslu and Annapurna Trekking Cost?

In contrast, constantly facing dull or challenging weather and harsh temperatures can hinder your encouragement and make you mentally weak. Hence, this is also the reason trekkers must do research and find the ideal season for perfect weather and temperature for tough treks like the Manaslu circuit and Annapurna Circuit.
The ideal weather and temperature for the Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna Circuit Trek are the Spring and Autumn seasons. The spring season starts in March and ends in May, and the weather and views are crystal clear. The temperature is also quite favorable for trekking, with a high temperature of close to 20 degrees and a lower temperature of around -5 degrees.
