The Pikey Peak Trek is an accessible and relatively short trek in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal that offers panoramic views of Mount Everest and other peaks without the difficulty of the higher Everest region treks. The 10 days Pikey Peak trek takes you to one of the tallest hills and the best vantage point in the Sherpa homeland of the lower Khumbu region. Pikey Peak offers the most amazing broad views of the eastern and western Himalayas in Nepal. From Kathmandu take a long drive to Lower Solukhumbu district. Upon reaching a small village called Dhap, begin the trek to Sigane or Japre village following subalpine forest. First views of Mt. Everest and the Numbur Himalayan range can be seen from Japre. After spending a night at Japre, trek to Pikey Peak Base Camp. Mostly the trail is deserted and peaceful, with views of the Everest region mountains getting closer. Passing grassy ridge and old yak herders house, reach the base camp for the night stay.
Before dawn, on the fourth day, climb the much-awaited Pikey Peak summit at 4,065m/13,336ft. Amazing views of the eastern region mountains include Mt. We recommend that you schedule your arrival in Kathmandu in the morning or during the day. This will give you enough time to relax and recover from jet lag before starting your adventure. Today, you will travel from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar on the first part of your Pikey Peak Trek itinerary via road. To get to Ghurmi bazaar, continue traveling along the road that runs alongside the Sunkoshi River. Along the route, you may take in the Nepali countryside's dynamic landscape of thick woods, terraced rice fields, and countless flowing rivers. Once you get to Dhap Bazaar, you may take a leisurely stroll among the marketplaces.

After breakfast, your Pikey Peak Trek will begin at Dhap Bazaar. The peaks of the Numbur Himal range will be visible as you make your way to Sigane. The first couple of hours of the journey from Sigane will be spent traveling along a road that is still being built. The name of the first settlement you will encounter is Jhapre (2920m). It has wonderful views of Everest and the Numbur Himal from over a deep valley. There is a stupa and a cute tiny Buddhist monastery. You will make a night's stay at Jhapre.

Following Jhapre, the Pikey Peak Trekking Trail ascends to a grassy ridge at Bhulbhule. You will enjoy lovely views of the Everest range from there. The path splits just beyond Bhulbhule, and you will turn right to Pikey Peak. A lengthy mani stone wall and several ancient yak homes are both on your path. The route then winds through a lovely woodland track as it follows the contour of the slope below Taklung Danda. Along a flat route, rhododendron trees may be seen in abundance here (which you can see in bloom if trekking in the spring). Reaching Pikey Peak base camp takes about two hours once you have left the jungle.

One of the best moments of your Pikey Peak Trekking journey will take place today. To reach Pikey Peak in time to see the sunrise, an early morning start is required. The route is simple; it ascends straight away from Base Camp and carves a path through the mountain's western face. You will be rewarded with views of the majestic Himalayan peak Thamserku (6623m), which dominates the skyline, as the sun begins to rise. A little distance after turning the curve, you will see prayer flags flapping in the wind and Pikey Peak's peak just out of your grasp and looking behind you, you will see Mt. Everest and an incredible view of the Himalayan range, which includes six additional 8,000-meter peaks as far as the eye can reach: Lhotse, Makalu, Annapurna, Manaslu, Kanchenjunga, and Dhaulagiri. After reaching the summit, you will return to Base Camp. A rise through a pine grove will make up the first section. The air is crisp, clean, and light. You will spend most of the day above 3600 meters. From Base Camp, you will go to Jasmane Bhanjyana for an overnight stay.

Today, you will go into the forest on the Pikey Peak Trail's after breakfast. You will pass across the meadow after the woodland. After that, you will reach Taktor, where you may eat lunch. The journey will then continue on a broad gravel road into Junbesi. You may visit a Buddhist Monastery before getting to Junbesi. Beautiful tea houses and a Buddhist stupa may be seen at Junbesi. The Sherpa, Magar, and Tamang people live in this village. The sight of rivers, a lively monastery, and snow-capped hills greet you as you enter Junbesi, a mountain sanctuary. After the last few days of trekking, it's a terrific spot to unwind.

Even though you might easily spend the entire day admiring the views from Junbesi, you should definitely take the short excursion up to Thuptenchholing Monastery. One of Nepal's biggest monasteries, it is perched high above the valley and is home to a majority of female monks. You may peek inside the buildings' internal areas and visit the kitchens. The monks are courteous, hospitable, and inviting, and it's an interesting location to explore.
Next; option is to trek through a forest for two to three hours till you come to an extremely high-perched ridgeline. Today after breakfast, you will descend the dusty Pikey Peak Trail via the Junbesi River until you reach a steel suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge, you will arrive at Beni Ghat. Before reaching Phaplu, you will continue your Pikey Peak trail on a scenic route. At reaching Phaplu, you can participate in a traditional Sherpa cultural program while enjoying local food and drinks.

Nepal Visa Information
Visa on Arrival: Most nationalities can obtain a visa upon arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Visa Fees: A 15-day multiple-entry visa costs USD 30, a 30-day visa costs USD 50, and a 90-day visa costs USD 125.
Application Process: Visitors should fill out a visa application form, which is available online or at the airport, and provide a passport-sized photo and payment in cash.
Requirements: A valid passport with at least six months remaining validity and a blank page for the visa stamp is required. Ensure you carry sufficient USD cash for the visa fee as not all payment methods are accepted.
Useful Information

Where do we stay during the Pikey Peak trek?
In Kathmandu, you stay at Hotel Vajra in Kathmandu near Swyambhunath, where you can relax and enjoy the greenery. Breakfast will be provided in the hotel and your accommodation will be on twin sharing basis and if you would like to have a single room, upon request you are required to pay single supplement price as stated in the trip costing. Regardless of whether you’re coming back from the mountains or touching base from the airport, come and unwind at the hotel beautiful garden, request some fine Italian espresso or a chilled Beer, and escape in the memorable surroundings of Kathmandu’s most adored Swyambhunath.
Moreover; During the Lower Everest region trek, you will stay in simple teahouse/ lodges run by local people. You will have a private room at all places, and it will be a fully lodge-based trek. The rooms have a bed, a pillow, and blankets, and you can enjoy nice views from the window. Each lodge has a warm dining area. We will provide a free usage of sleeping bag for the trek but you can also bring your own if you have it. Most lodges have western toilets now but the toilets may be shared at the lodges.
Meals on the trek
During your Lower Everest region Trek, you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-houses or from a lodge menu where you spend the night where as lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available while in Kathmandu.
Typical day on trek
Daily wake up calls will be between 6.00 am to 7.00 am while on the trek. The wake-up time and breakfast time will be decided a night before during the briefing time. The time table for each day will entirely depend on your walking duration for that particular day.
After a hearty breakfast, you set off on the day’s walk. Before breakfast, you are required to pack your duffel bag as it will be loaded by the porter while you are having your breakfast. After few hrs, of walk, you stop for lunch mid-day. The afternoon’s walk is generally shorter and you usually arrive at your destination in time for afternoon tea. The rest of the afternoon can be spent exploring the village, to wash your clothes or simply relaxing with a good book. On some days, you will arrive at your destination by lunchtime and the entire afternoon will be free. After dinner, you will heading off to bed for a well-earned sleep.
Group Size
Our emphasis is always on maintaining the small group so that it will be easy to coordinate and cooperate with each other. Our group size is small and we only take up to 12 pax in one group. But if the size of the group varies, minimum no of persons required to operate the trip is 1 and the maximum is 12 people.
