Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is an 8-day short trekking program in the lower Annapurna region. It is an easy trek and is very suitable for beginners. People of all ages, including senior citizens, can trek Dhampus Sarangkot without any problem. Dhampus Sarangkot trek offers panoramic views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Lamjung Himal (6,983m), Manaslu (8,163m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), etc.

Dhampus (1,612m) and Sarangkot (1,786m) are two different places. Dhampus is a beautiful Gurung village, and Sarangkot is one of the best places in Nepal to witness a beautiful sunrise. The trek will not be difficult as you will explore the lower reaches of the Annapurna range during the Dhampus Sarangkot trek. You will trek through forests, terraces, and rural settlements. You will meet people from different ethnic groups and different cultures in this area.

From where you are starting the trek, the mesmerizing landscapes will bless your eyes and soothe your soul. The colors of the lush green forests, the fresh air, and the fact that you are in the Himalayas make the trek amazing. Another great aspect of the Dhampus Sarangkot trek is that you get to visit Kathmandu and Pokhara, two of the most famous tourist cities in Nepal. In Kathmandu, you will go on a guided tour of several historical sites that will give you a first glimpse of Nepali culture, tradition, art, and architecture. You will then fly to the lake city of Pokhara, from where a short drive will take you to the starting point of the Dhampus Sarangkot trek route.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. After completing visa formalities and collecting your luggage at the airport, please exit the arrival hall. Your tour leader will be waiting for you just outside the arrival hall and will take you to hotel in Kathmandu. Please look for a placard with your name on it at the exit of the arrival hall. Then depending on the time, you will have time to walk around the hotel and familiarize yourself near hotel.

Day 02 :

In Kathmandu, sightseeing and trek preparation

Today is a full-day Kathmandu tour; in which you will explore various UNESCO sites in Kathmandu. We will start our tour with a visit to Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal. We will witness the Hindu cremation ceremony at Aryaghat, located on the banks of the Bagmati River. And we will visit Boudhanath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal. We can see the rich Tibetan culture at Boudhanath. Similarly, we will end the day’s tour by visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square, the old royal residence of Nepal.

Day 03 :

Fly to Pokhara frpm Kathmandu - and explore

Today we will take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It will take us 25 minutes to fly above the clouds to reach Pokhara airport. Being in the air, we will be able to see the Annapurna and other mountains up close. From Pokhara airport, we will be transferred to a hotel near the lakeside. After refreshments, we will set out to explore Pokhara. Davis Falls, Mountaineering Museum, Seti Ghat, Mahendra Cave and Gupteshwar Cave etc.

Day 04 :

Drive to Phedi and trek to Dhampus village

Our trek, the morning begins with breakfast, from where a short drive of about half an hour takes you to the foothills of the Dhampus mountain range, known as Phedi. Start by climbing a stone staircase for a while to reach a flat land with well-cultivated villages and terraced fields. The views of the valley below are breathtaking as the trek continues for some time, the final climb of the day to the high peak of Dhampus village, will fill you with views of the peaks of the Annapurna mountain range to the south, as well as snow-capped mountains such as Machhapuchhre (6993 m) and Lamjung Himal (6883 m). You will also have a special interaction with the local Gurung people and be amazed by their simplicity and innocence.

Day 05 :

Morning enjoy views and trek to Sarangkot

In the morning, enjoy the view of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges in Dhampus village where the sunrise is visible over the mountains, including towering and majestic Machhapuchhre Himal, known as the Fish Tail because of its two peaks. Enjoy breakfast with amazing views of the Himalayan range, and start your second day’s trek at the top of Dhampus ridge, then descend to the river ghat for some time inside a nice farm village. It takes less than an hour to reach Naudanda from the gorge and village located on the Beni Highway from Pokhara. From here, head east on a nice scenic road to Sarnakot, where the trek takes you through the large village of Kaskikot to Sarnakot for your final night in the hills of Pokhara Valley.

Day 06 :

Catch the sunrise over the mountain range and walk to Pokhara

Sarangkot is a popular and famous sightseeing hill, which attracts hundreds of visitors for its magnificent sunrise views and views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. Paragliding and zip-flying, a popular adventure sport, start from the top of Sarangkot hill. After enjoying the amazing views of the Himalayan peaks and sunrise, you will have breakfast and after breakfast, with the Annapurna Himalayas all around, we will reach Mount View Hotel near Fewa Lake, from where it is a short 2-hour walk to Pokhara.

Day 07 :

Drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara

After breakfast in Pokhara, you can also do some last minute shopping. Then you will head towards Kathmandu. You should grab the left seat of the tourist bus to get a great view of the mountains and the Marsyangdi River on the highway as this will probably be the last time you will see them. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel; and you will spend the day at your leisure.

Day 08 :
