Located in the Ramechhap district of eastern Nepal, Numbur Cheese Circuit Trekking is a brand new trail for passionate trekkers. The trail is named after the Mount Numbur Chuli (6,959 m) and the first yak cheese factory established here in 1957. It is an emerging trek of Dolakha, Gauri Shankar Conservation Area (GCA) with great tourism potential.

This trail connecting the two lovely rivers Likhu and Khimti in the lap of Mount Everest is famous for its panoramic views of hills, villages and mountains. Also, this trek will provide an opportunity to observe the ancient culture of the different ethnic groups living here such as: Newar, Tamang, Thami, Sherpa etc.

The Numbur cheese circuit offers a panoramic view of the snow capped mountains including Langtang valley, Jugal Himal, Gaurishankar Himal, Numburchuli Himal, Ramdung peak. Ice lake, deep rivers, rice fields, subtropical forests and the Likhu River glacier. This trekking trail will act as a mystical Shangri-La for hikers looking for a break from their busy lives. If you visit somewhere between April and May, you can see forests decorated with rhododendron flowers. Fortunately, in this biodiversity-rich region, we can find exotic musk deer, Himalayan tigers, eagles and snow leopards. This trail also has large glaciers like Manedanda, Kholakharka, Tare and Lekhu Glacier, Surmoche Glacier. You can also see Panchpokhari, Milk Pond, Bhale Pond and Baula Pond important for Hindus. As they say “Leave only footprints, take only memories as you go”, this trekking trail is built with utmost respect for mother nature. Thus, there are no lodge buildings, only eco-friendly camp sites.

Our Numbur Circuit Trek – Shivalaya and Those Numbur are the starting and ending points of the circuit and it is an 8 to 9 hour drive from Kathmandu to Shivalaya.
