The Numbur Cheese Circuit is a new trek in the Ramechhap District of Nepal. The starting point of the trek is Shivalaya, also the start of Everest Base Camp trek for those who don’t fly to Lukla.
This route has a recommended itinerary of 16 days trekking, although at a push it can be completed in up to 10/12 days by combining some of the shorter days. It can also be extended several days for those who wish to visit some of the nearby glaciers, peaks or lakes.
This trek provides breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayan peaks including Numburchuli, Sarmoche, Ramdung, Chukyu Go, Parchamo, Bigpara Go Nup, Paniyo Tippa, Paniyo Shar, Everest range, Annapurna South, Langtang, Jugal Himal and Gaurishankar. This trek follows the Likhu Khola valley up to the remote yak pastures of Ngeju nestled at the foot of the ice-fall tumbling from the sacred summit of Numbur. You walk passing the River gorge, Glacier Lakes, Rice terraced fields, subtropical forests and Sherpa Villages. You can also visit one of the Nepal’s first cheese factories, established in 1957 and the famous Thodung monastery.
The Numbur Cheese Circuit trekking is more potential for the trekkers who are looking for ‘off-the-beaten path’ treks. The High Himalayan lakes, revered by pilgrims including Panch Pokhari, Jata Pokhari, Bhale Pokhari, Dudhpokhari.
Adding to that, this trek will also give you the chance to observe and be the part of the ancient culture of different ethnic groups living here such as: Newar, Tamang, Thamli, Hyolmo, and Sherpa among others, unscathed by modernity.
In April and May rhododendrons bloom in profusion, you may also see eagles and musk deer as well as Himalayan tahr, a species of goat antelope. If you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of the elusive snow leopard. Our national bird is also found in this Numbur cheese circuit which is called Himalayan Monal its beautifully colourful pheasant is the national bird of Nepal.
During the wet season the mountain meadows are very green and lush with flowers and grasses. However trekking at this time is difficult in the wet and clouds will obscure any views.
This place is organizing by our company recently ,so this is perfect place for trek .

TREKKING GRADES IN NEPAL
Trekking in Nepal can be done by all levels of trekkers; if they think themselves fit and have strong desire. In general, trekking in Nepal can be graded into five levels according to route features and elevation. Some trekking routes are combined with higher level of elevation which requires some different standard of physical fitness and acclimatization or rest day. We advise you to choose a trek that is fit for your capabilities and present health condition. Morning and evening walks, jogging, stretching, meditation and regular light exercise will help you for the trek.

GRADE A: EASY
Trekking can be ideal for any age group and it is upto 3000m of elevation and duration will be about not more than 10 days. It is the easiest treks, tours and walking in a day is not exceeding more than 5 hours, but it is depend upon to your walking speed. These types of trek also allow plenty of opportunities to view the Himalayas and encounter local culture.

GRADE B: MODERATE
Trekking duration is about two weeks long covering elevation from 3000m to 4500m. This level of trek requires sound physical fitness conditions and about 6-7 hours of daily hiking capabilities. This type of trek involves mixture of some longer and shorter hike and trails can be rough, steep and have many ups and downs with some exposure.

GRADE C: STRENUOUS
Trekking involves up to 5000m or few meters up level of trails with side trips to higher elevations. Considered to be harder, therefore, preparation for fitness and good health conditions are essential. As it is above 5000m and demands good health condition and physical fitness, we do not recommend it for those who suffer from asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease or complicated medical conditions.

GRADE D: DIFFICULT
Trekking is very strenuous trekking as it requires mountaineering skills and knowledge. The elevations range from 5000m to 6000m and approximately 7 to 10 hours walking a day for the trekking in Nepal. It covers very remote areas, traveling over snow-covered passes at an altitude of up to 6000 meters. You may need to use axes and crampons to cross the pass when there is heavy snow.

GRADE E: CHALLENGING
The challenging trekking grade is limited to those with an excellent level of personal experience and fitness of an outstanding sense of humor and high tolerance levels. It is challenging trek, which is mountaineering level and above the height of 6000m. This type of trek needs 16- 28 days more for going the trekking on the higher altitudes. During the trek you may have to cross the snow – covered passes in very remote areas. You need to learn some mountaineering skills before going to this trek.
