Numbur Cheese Circuit trek is a recently opened non tourist area trekking route in the lap of Numbur Chuli. The ideal trek, for who wants to escape from the regular tracks and for who wants to touch up with the off beaten trails. This recently developed trekking route lies Ramechhap about 190 km east of the capital city of Kathmandu. The trek leads through deep river gorges, glacial lakes, terraced rice fields, subtropical forests and Sherpa villages to the Likhu Khola glacier, watched over by the towering peaks of Pathibarra and Numburchuli. This trek provides breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayan peaks including Numburchuli, Sarmoche, Ramdung, Chukyima Go, Parchamo, Bigphrea Go Nup, Paniyo Tippa, Paniyo Shar, Everest range, Annapurna South, Langtang, Jugal Himal and Gaurishankar. This trek follows the Likhu Khola valley up to the remote yak pastures of Ngeju nestled at the foot of the ice-fall tumbling from the sacred summit of Numbur.  You walk passing the River gorge, Glacier Lakes, Rice terraced fields, subtropical forests and Sherpa Villages. You can also visit one of the Nepal’s first cheese factories, established in 1957 and the famous Thodung monastery.

Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel by our representative.
Day 02 : Sightseeing at Kathmandu valley.
Day 03 : Transfer to Shivalaya From Kathmandu by Private Jeep (1790)m. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 04 : Trek to Khahare from Shivalaya.(2175m), 5-6 hrs. Tent camp.
Day 05 : Trek to Panipakha from Khahare. (3105m), 5 hrs. Tent camp.
Day 06 : Trek to Manedanda from Panipakha. (3940m), 4/30 hrs. Tent camp.
Day 07 : Trek to PanchPokhari from Manedanda (4515m), 4 hrs.Tent camp.
Day 08 : Trek to Tare from Panch Pokhari(4140m), 5/30 hrs. Tent camp.
Day 09 : Rest Day and explore around, overnight at camp.
Day 10 : Trek to Ngeju from Tare (3690m), 6 hrs. Tent camp.
Day 11 : Trek to Lhachhewar from Ngeju(2665m), 6 hrs. Tent camp.
Day 12 : Trek to Gumdel from Lahchhewar (2255m), 5/30 hrs. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 13 : Trek from Gumdel to Serding (3360m), 4 hrs
Day 14 : Trek from Serding to Lapchane (3150m),6 hours via Thodung.
Day 15 : Trek from Lapchane to Those (1755m), 4 hrs
Day 16 : Drive from Those to Kathmandu via Jiri, overnight at hotel.
Day 17 : Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination.

Day 1
Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, transfer to hotel by our representative.

Day 2
Day 02 : Sightseeing at Kathmandu valley.

Your sightseeing of this ancient city begins at around 9:00am after breakfast. A specialized tour guide and a comfy private vehicle will be available for your assistance. First we will visit the biggest Hindu temple of Nepal, Pashupati Nath, which predates to Lichhavi period. Then, to Boudha Nath, and Swayambhu Nath, shrines of lord Buddha, uniquely built in Stupa style architecture. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 3
Day 03 : Transfer to  Shivalaya From Kathmandu by Private Jeep (1790)m. Overnight at Lodge.

Taking around 8 hours, we will drive from Kathmandu to reach Shivalaya. The road is finely paved and while driving you can witness stunning mountain views. Shivalaya is the doorway for the Numbur Cheese Circuit which is located on the scenic Khimti River.

Day 4
Day 04 : Trek to Khahare from Shivalaya.(2175m), 5-6 hrs. Tent camp.

The trail today moves ahead from Shivalaya to Khahare rising and falling all along the valley side via terraced pastures and falls to go across the river and then turns steeply up the cliff on the other part. Khahare is a tiny settlement resided only in winters by the house owners while during the summer they move to livestock pastures which borders Tibet.

Day 5
Day 05 : Trek to Panipakha from Khahare. (3105m),  5 hrs. Tent camp.

Be prepared for adventurous trekking and eco-camping. Enjoy wilderness trekking along the Khimti river and up to the panipakha where you will find your first eco-camping site amidst the scattered chauri sheds and the towering alpines. Enjoy rare sunset views from panipakha over night at Camp.

Day 6
Day 06 : Trek to Manedanda from Panipakha.  (3940m), 4/30 hrs. Tent camp.

Today the trail goes across a small Sherpa village of Phokte. The route ascends all the way through the rhododendron forests to the summer meadows of Maanedanda. The set our tent at Maanedanda which has a basic cooking shelter and space for tents. It offers superb views in the days with clear weather.

Day 7
Day 07 : Trek to PanchPokhari from Manedanda (4515m), 4 hrs.Tent camp.

Today we will climb for about 4 hour on a precise trail to reach Panch Pokhari which literally means five holy lakes which lies at an elevation of 4200m. Here we can see two metal-roofed houses, a sheet metal-covered shrine of Lord Shiva and a heap of ironed tridents. The trail climbs to Jata Pokhari firstly. With the elevating altitude we walk via alpine pastures to scrubby jungle of Sunpati, an unusual mountain herb. As we reach near the beautiful waterfall we get the indication of our arrival at Jata Pokhari. Lake Jata Pokhari is located in the lap of Mount Numburchuli and is a popular pilgrimage in Ramechhap. During the months of June and July full moon days thousands of devotees come to worship. The trail moves further and after a short walk we will reach to Panch Pokhari. There are actually five small lakes which in Nepali language is named as Panch Pokhari.

Day 8
Day 08 : Trek to Tare from Panch Pokhari(4140m), 5/30 hrs. Tent camp.

Today we will the cross the pass lying at an elevation of 4600m and move down to reach Thare. On the way we will walk all along Khola Kharka and move further downward to Nupche River passing through thick bamboo forest. Here you will enjoy fresh cheese making process in green pasture at the side of the Nupche River before reaching the eco-camping spot at Thare. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 9
Day 09 : Rest Day and explore around, overnight at camp.

Today we have arrest day. And alternatively you can have a trip to Gigphera Go Nup Base Camp or Glacier, Linkhu Nup Glacier, Khola Cire (4469m) and see striking Lhasa Lake (4469m). Overnight at tented camp.

Day 10
Day 10 : Trek to Ngeju from Tare (3690m), 6 hrs. Tent camp.

Today we have a strenuous path from Thare to till we reach Linkhu Khola valley which although is the challenging one but rewards you with the beautiful views. The peak views expand from north into Tibet as we go across the Gyajo La also known as Thulo Lapcha at 4880m which is habitually used by local Sherpas to get yaks across the peaks to Rakhidanda and Ngeju are sensational. We trek further down from the Likhu glacier and big moraines. The trek down from the Likhu glacier assists us to reach Ngeju (3690m).

Day 11
Day 11 : Trek to Lhachhewar from Ngeju(2665m), 6 hrs. Tent camp.

Today we head off from Ngeju and reach Lahaksewar which is known as Sewar and is the most striking Sherpa communities in the upper Ramechhap area. The village greets you with its incredible landscapes, culture and kindness. Sewar people still follow their typical lifestyle.

Day 12
Day 12 : Trek  to Gumdel from Lahchhewar (2255m), 5/30 hrs. Overnight at tented camp.

Along with the glossy Numberchuili as the background, we depart from Kyama to reach home stay at Gumdel bestows you with the best of Sherpa culture amidst abundant landscape and amazing mountain scenery.

Day 13
Day 13 : Trek from Gumdel to Serding (3360m), 4 hrs,

From Gumdel we will move forward crossing the thick and beautiful forest to arrive at Serding. One can enjoy the beautiful scenery of sub-alpine and temperate forest with the Gauri Shanker and Numburchuli in the background. We can relish on some yak cheese here as well and go through the process of making it. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 14
Day 14 : Trek from Serding to Lapchane (3150m),6 hours via Thodung.

Today we will leave Serding for Lapchane via Thotung. We will visit Thodung Monastery on our way back. We will further move downhill to Deurali from where we can see the breathtaking view of the Gauri Shankar Mountain. On reaching Lapchane, We will Homestay at a local Newari house where you will be able to be a part of the renowned Newari culture. We can go for a brisk from hike to Tamdanda, which is 30 minutes away from Lapchane. It is famous as the tallest hill in Ramechhap. From the hill you can observe colossal Dhaulagiri, Gauri Shanker, Annapurna, Numbur, Kanchenjunga and more. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 15
Day 15 : Trek from Lapchane to Those (1755m), 4 hrs,

In this day we will trek to Those where we will spend a peaceful evening, resting or exploring the wilderness once again. We will bid goodbye to this wonderful trek and prepare for a long drive to Kathmandu for next day. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 16
Day 16 : Drive from Those to Kathmandu via Jiri, overnight at hotel.

Back on our private land cruiser, we will leave for Kathmandu early. It will take around 7-8 hours. Once again, you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful view of villages, hills and mountains, dwindling rivers on your way back. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 17
Day 17 : Transfer to airport, departure to your own destination.
