A relatively new trek compared to most other treks around Annapurna, Mohare Danda trek is undertaken by a handful of tourists. Hence, making it a perfect destination for those looking for solitude.

The 10-day Mohare Danda Trek begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. The trip moves from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then to Galeshwor village. You’ll gradually trek through the forested trail past Magar villages of Banskharka, Nangi, and Mohare Danda (3320m). You can catch the amazing sights of the nearby mountains including Annapurna South (7219m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), and Hiunchuli (6441m) from the location.

Afterward, you’ll retrace your and descend through Khibang, Tilkot, and Tiplyang village en route to Pokhara. A morning hike to the World peace Pagoda offers mesmerizing views of the Himalayas in the Annapurna ranges along with the Mt. Machhapuchhre (6997m).

The trip concedes upon your return to Kathmandu. Mohare Danda Trek suits all kinds of trekkers including adults traveling. Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu (1,350m) and transfer to Hotel.
Day 2: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley
Day 3: Fly to Pokhara and drive to Galeshwor then trek to Banskharka (1526m) 2-3 hours
Day 4: Trek to Nangi (2320m) from Banskharka 5-6 hours
Day 5: Trek to Mohare Danda (3320m), from Nagi village 5-6 hours.
Day 6: Trek to Khibang (2060m) from Mohare Danda 5-6 hours
Day 7: Trek to Tikot (2210m) from Khibang 3-4 hours
Day 8: Trek to Tiplyang (1040m) 3 hours and drive to Pokhara 4 hours
Day 9: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus.
Day 10: Drop at the airport for the final departure.

  • The itinerary is published in full board operation services for a clear understanding of the client. But, required for Trekking cost depends on porter request or exclusion too.
  • The above offer price is full board standard format of itineraries which are all inclusive. But, the cost depends also on request category hotel accommodation in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

Details Itinerary

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. Upon completing the visa formalities and collecting your luggages in the airport, kindly proceed to the exit of the arrival hall. Please look out for a placard of your name at the exit of arrival hall. Your trip leader will await you just outside the arrival hall and will escort you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Welcome drinks will be served and after you’ve refreshed, your trek leader will brief you about your trip.

Today our experienced guide takes you around Kathmandu valley for a sightseeing tour in a private van. The tour includes a visit to some of the UNESCO enlisted world’s heritage sites in Kathmandu. Starting with Swayambhunath Temple, you go on to visit Pashupatinath Temple, from where you proceed towards Boudhanath Stupa.

After early breakfast at the hotel, you’ll drive to the airport and embark on a scenic flight to the touristic city of Pokhara. Lying almost 200km west of Kathmandu, it may take almost 25 min to reach Pokhara. Once at Pokhara, you’ll drive northwest to the village of Galeshwor. The three and half hour drive to Galeshwor goes along the bank of Kali Gandaki River. After a brief lunch, you’ll start the trek and hike for three hours en route to Banskharka. Overnight at a home-stay in Banskharka.

The trek gradually ascends through the lushly forested trail leading from Banskharka. The day starts with a hearty meal at your homestay and head north to Nangi. The 5-6 hours long trek leads from Banskharka and passes along small, beautiful villages offering the stunning views of the nearby mountains and impressive landscapes. You can also visit the organic farm school located in a Magar village. Overnight in an eco-community lodge in Nangi.

The trek materializes at the dainty peak of Mohare Hill. Leaving Nangi, the trail goes through the beautiful forests of Oak and Rhododendrons along with the magnificent views of Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna South (7219m), Tukuche (6920m), and Nilgiri (7061m). Mohare is a small hill-station that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding. In the late-noon, you can observe the glorious sunset view from Mohare before resting at an eco-community lodge in Mohare Danda.

After enjoying a beautiful sunrise view at Mohare Danda, you’ll head down to the nearby village of Khibang. Khibang is a small Eco-Community known for its community forests and homestay. A 5-6hr of the trek will take you through the Oak and Rhododendron forests to Khibang. You can choose to visit the community forest and organic farm along the way. Overnight at a home-stay in Khibang.

Leaving Khibang behind, you’ll retrace your path and head downhill. Today, you’ll make your way to Tikot village, a small Magar settlement. A short trek will be filled with a lovely time among nature. You’ll enjoy your lunch and dinner at one of the community lodges along with an overnight stay. Located at 2210m, Tikot remains one of the most beautiful Magar villages in Nepal. Overnight at a home-stay in Tikot.

Leaving Tilkot, you’ll head further down to Tiplyang village. Tiplyang will the last village en route to Pokhara. A small village nestled to the southwest of the Annapurna massif and the bank of the Kali Gandaki River, the village is less frequently visited by tourists. Once at Tiplyang, you’ll catch a jeep back to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.

Today we will drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We grab seats on the left aisle of the tourist bus for the best views of the white water rafting river (Trisuli river) along the highway because it’s today our last time we’ll probably see them. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we get transferred to our hotel; and we spend the day at our own leisure.

  • According to the trip program, AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions arranged flight tickets from Kathmandu to Pokhara for trekking members.
  • Transportation will be included during the trekking and major city for members as per the itinerary above.
  • AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions will provide you with a clean and cozy teahouse/lodge to stay in and eat during the trekking.
  • Most of the trekking trail, lunch is done on the way between the starting and ending the day of hiking while dinner and breakfast at the teahouse/lodge where you have overnight stay. AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions provides a fresh breakfast, lunch, and dinner with tea/coffee at the tea house's menu throughout the trekking. (clean, Nutritious, and fresh food)
  • AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions allow up to 15kg of personal trekking equipment per person during the trekking period carried by porters or mules.

  • The Trekkers' Information Management Systems permit issued by the trekking agency association of Nepal is necessary to enter the area of Annapurna Conservation, so AlpineTrav Treks & Expeditions provide you a TIMS permit too.

Cost Exclusion

  • Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and Pokhara is also the second city of Nepal. Since this citys offers high quality and delicious food from different countries and groups, we were hoping you could taste the meals you like. For that reason, during your stay in Kathmandu and Pokhara, you will have to arrange lunch and dinner (except the farewell dinner).
  • Suppose you want to take any packed food, snacks, drinks, energy drinks, mineral water, and carbonated soft drinks, any types of alcohol, cigarettes, chocolates, and nutria-bars during the trek. In that case, you have to buy it yourself.
  • Expenses incurred towards usage of Items of personal trekking equipment, laundry expenses, tips, Landlines, mobiles, satellite phones, and the internet service exclude in the package.
  • Trekking is an adventurous activity that always takes place in remote areas. So, safety is the primary factor for us. Therefore, you have to have your travel insurance covering the cost of emergency rescue, medical treatment, medical tests, and hospitalization before you arrive for the trip to Nepal.
  • The package cost offered above does not include your international flight ticket and Nepal's tourist visa, so that you have to pay for your international flight ticket and tourist visa yourself.
  • Any extra expenses arising out of various/unforeseen situations like natural disasters, landslides, political disturbances, changes in government regulations exclude.
